Basketball is a completely different sport though. Also, one of the main problem that people want to avoid is too many games for the players and their safety. I don't think an 8-5 Wisconsin team last year would have lasted a half against Bama. You're entitled to your opinion though.

 

We blew our chance to beat y'all. We should have won.

 

Easy, Trigger... TAMU has one of the worst defenses in the NCAA, not just the worst one in the SEC. Alabama's is tops in the nation. Let's not assume putting points on the Aggies means you'll ride roughshod over Alabama.

Also, the Iron Bowl is almost never a toss up... The favored team almost always wins. There's a reason they play the games and I get that, but "throwing the record books out the windows" does not apply to our rivalry.

 

It'll be interesting to watch. If they can keep the momentum going, they'll be very dangerous at home.

 

These helmets are raising a good chunk of change each. Makes me proud!

He has Alabama ranked behind Oregon and FSU, and says that it's based on their resume. Nevermind that Alabama has beaten two teams in the BCS ranking, while Oregon has beaten none and FSU has beaten one.... and lately Alabama is stomping the non-BCS-ranked teams just as hard as Oregon is beating their opponents: 52-0 against Arky, 49-7 against KY, etc.

He says that Alabama fans should be careful touting the resume of Alabama b/c it's weak and going to get weaker... OK, so we've beaten two BCS teams, we play another in a couple of weeks (La State), and another a couple of weeks after that (auburn), then potentially play a third in Atlanta (Mizzou/S. Carolina/Florida... but probably Mizzou, currently ranked 5th.)

He calls Alabama's run of 3 of 4 NCs "cute," and to let him know when they go 14 years ending up in the top 5 like FSU did under Bowden.

He calls Bowden the best coach in college football history.

He says Alabama's riding on legacy, and is not close to the best team in the country.

During the Kentucky game, ESPN put him on split screen w/ the game so he could talk about AJ McCarron and how he's a 4th round pick at best... While he talked, AJ sliced through the KY defense and threw a TD pass. (OK, it was KY, but the timing was great.)

 

Let's be honest. Alabama isn't playing Alabama football this year. Things just aren't clicking like they used to

 

I agree on that

 

O-line is coming together, and their beating the pants off of teams they should beat the pants off of. Their scoring defense is the top ranked in the country (even after giving up 42 to TAMU) with two shutouts against SEC opponents.

I think they're clicking OK.

To be clear, I think Bowden is a top 5 all time coach, easy. I realize he's the winningest coach of all time (by default), and he won two national titles. I just don't think that makes him the best.

 

So who is the best? Saban?

 

Those shutouts were against Kentucky and Arkansas. An Arkansas team that allowed SCAR to put 52 points on the board. I wouldn't toot my horn too much just yet.

Danny Kanell is arguably one of the best CFB analysts in the business. And that is a completely unbiased opinion. He is almost always correct with his wild picks and actually knows what he's talking about unlike most of the other well known analysts

I think an argument can be made for Bryant, Osborne, Rockne, Hayes, Paterno, and Bowden. I'm a Bammer and have Saban in the conversation... if he wins another NC, it'll be hard even for non-bammers to recognize that he should be part of the convo.

First of all, the Arky defense allowing S. Car to put up 52 has nothing to do with our defense shutting them out.

Second... We didn't shut out KY. They scored a TD. We shut out Ole Miss. They do suck, though..................................
