We're paying them a good chunk of money to do exactly that to 'em. This is the first year we've scheduled a cupcake game before our rivalry one with Florida. Look at Alabama playing Chattanooga or Clemson vs. Citadel.

Games already scheduled bud. We open up the season next year.

Lynch Toyota in Auburn is offering a rather unique deal to its potential customers: any car that is bought between Nov. 19 and Nov. 29 will be paid for by the dealership IF the Tigers shutout the Tide in the Nov. 30 Iron Bowl. Additionally, the dealership will give away $25,000 to one buyer if AU wins the game regardless of whether Auburn whitewashes Alabama or not.

The Tide has scored in 166 straight games, the third-longest such streak in school history. That streak extends all the way back to Nov. 18, 2000, when Alabama was shutout by… Auburn, of course. It was the last of four times the Tigers had blanked the Tide in the 76 games the rivalry’s been played.
The closest the Tide has come to being shutout during the Nick Saban era (2007-present)? The 9-6 loss to LSU in 2011. In fact, that was the only time the Tide has been held to single digits with Saban as coach, and have only been held under 20 points eight times in 86 games during his six-plus seasons in Tuscaloosa.

On the flip side, Auburn has given up 20-plus points in seven of its 10 games against FBS schools this season, and have failed to record a shutout against anyone on their slate.

Heard about these quotes from John Theus after the game Saturday so I had to post on here. I'm just baffled by this.

“We came out a little sluggish the first half,” Theus said. “I think they kind of caught us by surprise. They came out with a lot of energy and they were playing really hard.”

“I realized it the first drive. I don’t know about everybody else,” Theus said. “I got beat off the edge and I realized they ain’t no joke. No. 30 (Dee Ford) was a great rusher and had a lot of speed. I realized then I had to pick it up and as the game went on I thought I did better and better.”

They caught you by surprise? They came out with a lot of energy? They were playing really hard? My question is why didn't you come out playing really hard? Why didn't you come out with a lot of energy?

I said during the first half that we didn't look ready to play. What does this say about our coaching staff? I just don't get it? Why would we not come out playing hard, not just for that game, any and every game! WTF?
