2013 NCAA Football Thread

After reading through these posts about Bama falling off and UGA having an easy schedule I have to say that first I kinda feel like Saban may be losing his edge a bit. I mean look at the mistakes in the the SECCG. Not using timeouts at the end of the first half, that was not very Saban like. Over all I just didn't get the same feel from last years team. They just didn't seem to have the killer instinct of a normal Saban coached team. Plus it's hard to stay on top.

As for our schedule toughness, I would say it's in the middle. Still tougher than most non SEC schedules. But for us it is tough because we face most of the tough teams right out of the gate where we need to get our D in line with all the new faces. If we can get through the early part of the year unscathed then we just have UF to get past, the rest isn't too awful tough. Our new D will be put to the test early, if we survive that we could be atop the east again. But we would still have to get past UF again and this game scares me as usual.

 

Saban making mistakes in big games isn't new. In 2009, he had a hard time calling plays against Auburn. Look back to 2010 and the way he let the offense completely slack against Auburn in the second half. In 2011, he made stupid calls about field goals against LSU. Last season, on fourth and two in the fourth quarter against A&M, Saban gave the go ahead to throw the ball instead of running it. On that play, McCarron threw a pick.

 

This is the hard part.....both of our seasons rely a lot on the GA/SC game. Lose this one & it's an up hill battle rest of the season.

5 best offensive plays from the SEC last year. I don't really agree with it, though. I would have had to put the game winning TD in the SECCG in there. Maybe at #2, and put Manziel at #1.

I was grttin on here to post that! 100 days sounds like forever though. Does 3.5 months sound shorter? I can't decide. Ether way...It's not close enough!!!!

From what have been reading, the SEC network will be free in their market areas...which is good news to hear! Maybe will be able to see some of our lower games that aren't usually aired.
