2013 plug n play back up camera

No rush

 

Is this connector a 20 or 24 pin (the one I circled in red)?
Does the radio have navigation?
The picture of the connectors that I posted earlier (post #14), are there both sides (male/female) or just what I show?

 

I will have to take the radio back out to check the pin number. The radio does not have navigation.

 

The connectors that you had in your pic are just like mine but I have male leads coming out of mine that run toward radio.

 

So you have 4 connectors for these?
Two going to the rear of the truck and two going to the radio? The one with 4 wires is the camera.

 

What camera did you buy?

 

If you do have something plugged into these connections they are going to your rear view mirror. But since you said earlier that you have a plain jane mirror the wires are tucked up above headliner where mirror is. You will have to either buy a mirror that has the back screen on it or from your earlier pics it looks like you have this radio if so you will need this wire harness. Which will plug into radio where havoc showed a pic asking if it was a 20 or 24 pin. Here with red circlethe other end of wire harness plugs into the wire harness of first pic. You will have to unplug what is there and plug new harness in. Right now as you show you have a good camera but it’s not plugged into anything since you show radio not having anything plugged into plug marked red and also not having a mirror with backup screen. It’s needs one or the other. Putting in another radio won’t help much cause it still wouldn’t have any kind of wire plugged into it from camera.

 

Also, before buying a mirror or anything if something is actually plugged into thesetry to put your hand between headliner and ceiling on truck right above your mirror and see if you feel the wire harness placed up there somewhere. The truck I had was extended cab so it had a console with map lights there and when I removed console I could see the wire harness

 

I believe they are for the reverse trigger wires, for the back of the radio and the other for the actual reverse signal from tail lights. I’m not 100% certain though. It’s been a few years since I installed that and have upgraded truck so I don’t have it to go look at. Maybe someone else on here can chime in and say.

 

just ordered the harness for my rc 2013 also... random question is the camera unit itself different on a 2013 and 2014 ( my neighbor has a 2014 and is going to let me try that camera) once I install the mirror to radio harness. ( yes I checked wires under truck and at fuse block I am prewired ) although there is no wiring from headliner to mirror (its just a base mirror not the video one)

Camera plug IS different on a 2014.. I tried my neighbors did not plug in.
