Of course they aren't worth $30K! A twinkie isn't worth a dollar either but people pay it cause they aint getting the twinkie for free!

Sure there is too much plastic on them and they don't get squat for MPG and for the price we pay we get no bells or whistles but Toyota makes a long lasting truck and that is a fact. My T100 had 287,000 miles on it before my ex-GF killed it. No bells, no whistles on that either but she was a runner! Probably only 4/10 of American trucks will make it that far but about double that for Toyotas (no data to back that up, just my 0.02)

So like your Mommy undoubtedly tried to teach you....if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all .

$31K. After reading this thread I feel like I could have done better on the negotiations. Oh well.

I got my 2013 DCSB V6 4x4 TRD Off-Road with tow package in September-one of the first on the lot here in FoCo...MSRP 32,875. Paid 29,500 but I had a $1,000 recent college grad rebate too...I traded in a car that was worth more than the truck so I paid no tax, and added the TRD cat back for $600 also tax-free (although still waiting for the parts to come in...) and a couple of other accessories since it was tax free.

In my research I saw some lower and some higher than this, but felt it was fairly middle of the pack and a solid deal.

Forgot to mention-I also got an extended warranty on mine, they had a great deal going. I forgot exactly what it was but basically 5 yr/75,000 mile with $0 deductible for around $500 (if I remember right...)

Getting 30 mpg on the highway

My T100 had 270,000 on it before it had any problems, and those were only from being SEVERLY overloaded for years. The only problems it ever had before then was a u joint and the clutch.

I had a 1991 that I sold with 240k. It had the damn 3.0 L and it had some head gasket problems... other than that, no problems with it

My dad bought a 1993 new and has beat that thing to death. Moved my family with it across the country, towed an 18 foot boat hundreds of miles... Only time it ever stranded him is when he was 10,000 miles overdue for some sort of routine maintenance (I was too young at the time to remember the part) He probably changes the oil once a year, if that often. 230k and still going.

No bells or whistles, but it's a truck. I don't want them anyway. There's some back up for your argument :)

He must be trollin because anyone with half a brain would not bash Toyotas and then brag up a pos Ranger. We all know the tacoma will be the one that lasts the longest.

you can probably do better. I got a 2012 DCSB OR for $29.9 (after a $500 rebate). I am not sure teh difference in MSRP in comparable 2012 & 2013's. Also, I dont know how much extra the OR package is. I believe it is like $1500.

I thought so. I thought it was a fair starting offer, but there has to be more room than that.

FWIW, had the other dealership in town quote me on the same truck. They said $27,250 for the same truck, same options, etc. Wonder why the huge difference, other than the dealer trying to screw me.

The other dealer isn't screwing you, they just aren't willing to sell it for as much of a discount as the cheaper one. Now if they were charging you more than MSRP then they'd be screwing you! Lol

Mine was a '93 also. Same 3.0L that had the head gasket recalled...I waited so long to take it in Toyota of Seattle wouldn't do the work for free so I never had it done (the head gasket), I also had an 18 footer that I towed up over Snoqualmie Pass more time than I can count...I worked the piss out of that truck! :D

    Happy Thanksgiving all y'all!

Yes we sure can go back and forth with the "he said, she said" but what is the point. Here is another fact, any Toyota YOU have won't last any longer than anything else. That doesn't mean a Toyota I have won't.

    Why are you here?

Grow up about 20 years and come back.
