Hey fellas, just bought a 2013 Gray double cab Tacoma w/ sport package and tow package. rx300 was totalled in Sandy. Went through USAA and got it for $30,500 in Virginia (near work) which I was happy about since here in nj its hard enough to find a new car let alone get a good price. Great site, tons of good people and info on here much like my first addiction yfzcentral.

Need help! Went in to buy the car I "built" on toyota online. I want a:
    -Spruce mica exterior
    -Sand Beige interior
-Sport or Off Road, Sport 6' bed preferred (Well really an off road with 6' bed preferred but, well, we know that won't ever happen)

Here's what the salesman told me:
    1. We don't have it.
    2. There are none within five states
    3. You'll never find one
    4. We can't order you one
    5. You can't get tan in a sport or a off road, only an SR5
    6. SR5 options are all included in a sport or a off road now. Me: So I can get a sport or off road with SR5 seats/interior then? Him: No.

WTF IS GOING ON???? Is this salesman smoking crack or can I only buy a tacoma with a grey interior unless I buy a little 2wd pickup??
Confused and pissed, was ready to buy after reading this whole thread and now I'm stuck with no truck to buy.

Seems like Toyota dealers are VERY resistant to the idea of special ordering, is it just Toyota wanting to streamline production, or what?

We are in the process of getting my wife a new GMC and special ordered it exactly how we wanted from the factory no problem! (10 week build wait)

But, looking at Toyotas for me, the impression I got was: well, this is what we've got, take it or leave it. :(

I just took what I could get, LOL! Had to go to 3 dealers just to find a stick shift 4x4 and it was the only one!!!

They beat you. There is no "normal" fee in NH. I have lived in NH for 16 years and boought 3 cars. No fees unless you let them charge you. They may give you BS about "waiting in line at theDMV, etc." for titlle, but as you know, you go to town offices anyway to pay the tax and you can apply for title. Takes 10 min.

the tan interior is not available in TRD trim (off road or sport).

you can buy a 4x4 SR5 with the tan interior.

Reading through this thread really frustrates me. Today I went into my local Toyota dealer to look at a couple TRD sports and off roads and the prices between Canadian tacomas vs American is almost 10-15k. I see you guys picking yours up for around 30k. Sticker price I saw on one was 39k + taxes, etc.

Also we can't get the TRD off road in a 4 door here in Canada.

When I'm ready to purchase I think I'm going to look into getting one stateside and bringing it home. Guess it depends on two factors. If Toyota Canada will transfer the warranty and how much taxes will have to be paid at the border.

    /rant.

    I had NO trade in.

..Yeah, I got a steal...you better believe it.

It's a lie that dealers don't sell at a loss..

This one sold at a loss.

Good price, but dealers don't sell at a loss... the "invoice" price you see is not what determines their profit in the vehicle.

By loss, i am not referring to what was on the sticker price.

I tried getting a better deal than that.

I shopped that price at 19 other dealerships.

    yes. 19.

None of them would not match the price.

    Some said I was lying.

Others said that the dealer is selling it to me at a loss, that its unbelievable.

Thats when i knew i had a good deal.
