I paid $38,400 after getting a $2,000 cash sale discount up here in Canada (TRD offroad DC LB). My truck would have been $42,420 after all taxes. Man it's frustrating paying $10,000 more when the Canadian $$ is now at par or better with the US. Manufacturers are making a killing. :annoyed:

I included taxes, freight and delivery and all that BS, and I purchased $2000 in accessories. $39,464 is the price I'm seeing on Toyota's build and price for an Alberta truck including all taxes and fees with no extras added.

here in FLA the state sets sales tax...

some counties add on a 1/2 or 1% for something like a new school or bidge, etc...but it's temporary for only a few years.

Our Juneau Sales Tax started out as temporary, LOL. Its only ever gone up.
New Vehicle sales tax is capped here in Juneau at $375. If you buy in Anchorage there is no tax.

    6% in my county

but ya only pay on the differance in value between the trade-in and the new truck.

I've even traded even..or down, and had no sales tax.

Im in the process of getting a taco my self…. i want a v6-6speed MGM DC Trd OffRoad with just the tow package….. and the dealers are telling thats is going to be "extremely difficult" to find it
    :(
what im going to do is call Toyota cust service directly and see where that takes me…. nothing to lose anyway right?
Im in central NJ but im willing to go fetch the car myself if its just like the way i want it configured

i know its no luxury car, but when im about to drop about $30k…I better exactly what I want.

I ran into the same thing in eastern PA when i purchased my DCSB OR in 2012. They tried to locate one for me and it was over 500 miles away. I am sure you can order one if youre willing to wait and/or pay for a special order.

IMHO- just get the SR5 with the OR wheel option or put aftermarket wheels on it.

Toyota Website says 32,780 for double cab long bed 4x4 TRD sport. How far off is that from the actual price I should be paying? also, some one inquired in the early pages of this post about the employee price plan. does anyone know anything about how this works? I have a family member that works for the ergo engineer department of toyota and can get me the paperwork for the secret discount. Not sure what the dealer is going to say/do when i show up with it.

If you live in town sales tx is 6.7% if you live in the county its considered agriculture and sales tax is like 2.7% thats what I'm talking about

    That is great.

In a lot of states the sale is taxed where you buy, not where you live.

Works out well for you

I register my vehicles in the state in which my drivers licence was issued regardless of where I bought it. Most states have reciprocity with other states when it comes to purchasing vehicles. usually you will always pay city tax and then sales tax for the state of your DL. You'll pay at the dealer if reciprocity exists, otherwise you have to pay the state tax when you register your vehicle in the state in which you live.
