if there was an abundance of them out there then i might have a little more bargaining power. all 3 dealers i talked to were all pulling up the same exact truck in mississippi. ive been hunting for a few months now and this is all i have been able to come up with. msrp shows to be $31,600. im sure there is a helluva lot more of these access cab 4x4's in california but everyone in oklahoma and texas only have double cabs. its ridiculous.

Hey folks, new member as well. Have had Tacomas in my family for some time, but I am just getting ready to purchase my first. This is a great thread for understanding pricing, so I would like to throw my deal out for comments. I will actually purchase tomorrow or Tuesday.

2013 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Sport 4x4 with Navi, Satellite, tow, backup cam - pretty well loaded.

Sticker with dealer fees = 35,751 (includes 915 manufacturer delivery, dealer fees 299)
Dealer Offer to me = 31,998

I think my math from this thread says that is a decent deal. We always want more though, right? What should I negotiate for? Lower price, invoice on some accessories? To include install on the accessories (was eyeing the TRD exhaust, skid plate, and bed extender). I am trading in my long-time baby - a 2000 Silverado Z71 with 182K. Unseen offer on that was 3-5K (about 2k too low), so we'll see how that goes.

    Thanks in advance for comments!

You can try www.truecar.com as well for a deal. That is how I found a dealer willing to give up the DC TRD Sport for under $30k.

That would be a pretty decent price in central FL. I ended up getting a prerunner v6 instead of what you're looking at. I was pricing the loaded TRD 4x4's --and there are a lot more prerunners on the lots down here.

I had a quote on a 2012 leftover 4x4 Trd sport package without navi for $200 less than your quote. They wouldn't budge and it was the end of the month. I guess they had already met their goal for the month.

I found out it was sold a week later.

Anyway--if they do you right on the trade, I'd jump on that deal for sure!

Man, part of me wishes I had my mom with me when I bought mine. I was able to get a little bit off after the taxes but not much. I'll admit, my bargaining skills are pretty weak. Ended up 38k out the door.

Got the TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB with Sat/Entune. I'll admit it was actually fully loaded but my mom is a great bargaining tool.

    bkiel,

I know what you're saying. My wife is the you-know-what at auto bargaining. No kidding. She should be an international corporate negotiator. I thought I was doing pretty well, so when the salesman walked away I asked "how I am doing' and her answer was "marginal" - with a smile of course. Provided the trade comes out my way I will be satisfied.

I found what I wanted at Mountain States Toyota in Colorado and then told the dealer here in Dallas that I was going to just fly out and get it. He then found the truck I was looking for. Searching outside of your zipcode opens up the options. Gulf States Toyota controls the SE US and limits options.

Pretty much a similar post to most people. I am looking to buy my first Tacoma this week potentially tomorrow.

The best offer I have so far is $28,750 out the door (tax tag and title included). Wanting to get to $28,500.
2013 Tacoma Double Cab Super White
    Pre-runner TRD Sport
    Tow Package
    17" alloys
    Mats (carpets)
    Toyogaurd
No upgarded sound system or navigation that I am aware of.

Is this a good price or would I be paying to much?

The first offer I got from a dealer in Charleston was 27600 OTD for the same truck except it was an off-road. Sales tax in S.C. are capped at 300.

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone else have a good example? I am going to try and use this information tomorrow to my benifit. The more examples the merrier. I really appreciate it.

Got mine in black with an exhaust tip for $26.1 before TTL. CA taxes made it an additional 2,500+ ($28.6) out the door.

Haha... This made me lol :)

I paid $28.7k OTD for the EXACT truck (minus toyo guard) about 4 weeks ago. It was the best I could find and I called EVERY dealerships Internet manager in Houston and they all said that they couldn't touch it. I'm not sure what your state tax rate is but mine here is 6.25% so I essentially got the truck for $1500ish below invoice.

Here's mine I picked up on Saturday:

2013 Tacoma Double Cab Super White
    Pre-Runner SR5 V6
    Tow Package
    16" Off Road Wheels

Got it for $27,500 after a little negotiation. Happy with it as this was my first time buying a new car. Not too many extra's in it but I went with the basic truck to add to it a little bit. Happier in this than I was in my BMW so far.

That's a good price. I paid more for the exact same truck, with some accessories thrown in. Though I'm in a market where that truck, in the color I wanted, does not come through very often or stick around for very long when one's in town. There's only 3 dealers within 120 miles here, (and I believe 5 within 325 miles) so I settled for a higher price than I would have in a bigger market. If I was in a bigger market, I would have negotiated much more aggressively.

How did it go? What did you end up paying/getting?

Quick update. Bought the 2013 MGM 4X4 TRD Spot DC. 30,998. Did have a trade so one could argue the real price. They started at 35,700. Went to 31,998. Traded a 2000 Silverado with 183000 and some aches and pains. Settled at 26,500.
