^I think that's decent OTD. What's the price before TTL? Folks here can give you a better answer if you provide price before TTL. Don't know where in norcal you're at, but my tax was 9.50%.

This is a quote from Ukiah.

Dealer is an idiot. Somehow he started talking about Access cabs, without mentioning it, after I told him I'm only interested in DCLB.

So, figure the same OTD, without the skid plate or tube steps or wheel locks.

MSRP: 31,291 is what they're saying.
    OTD door at 32,000.

After I told him I didn't want an access cab, he said "oh well you're not even in the right league for pricing on a double cab. Seems like he forgot he gave me a quote for the same pice on one? I didn't even want the tube steps or skid plate.

Damn, I got ripped off.. Well, I do live in Hawaii.

I paid about $32 out the door. The only extras i got was a dent/scratch warranty for 5 years (that was about $800 extra).

I have a 2013 PreRunner non 4x4 with no extras.. bastards.

    ^Good looking truck nonetheless!

Could be they were trying to get you into an access cab instead. Jedi mind tricks they have. I'm no expert, but I'd suggest emailing a few dealers for quotes so you can compare if you've not done so already.

I don't think so. He apologized and said I was right, prices aren't much different.

So far other dealers seem to think that 32,000 OTD is good.

Another one I've been talking to for a while said it would be hard for them to beat, and said if I can get that deal locally, there's no point driving a couple hours to his dealership.

I'm pretty untrusting of anything that's coming out of their mouths.

Am I just dealing with a stubborn dealer? Here's what he's saying now.

2013 double cab long bed. 4x4, sr5, tow package, alloy wheels, carpet floor mats and sill protector.

    MSRP: 31,905.
    Model base MSRP: 28,185.

He's telling me invoice is 30,077.20, which seems high.

    He's telling OTD at 32,832. He's quoting me 30,077 + tax/DMV.

Says he has no more room to go lower, which seems like bull to me.

    Thoughts?

I think that 10% off msrp is a good deal. I could pick up a Tforce for very close to that right now. They quoted $33k on $36.3 msrp after a few ?s they asked where I needed to be. There was some more room there.

I'd be fine with 10% off MSRP.

That would be 28,714. He's quoting me 30,077, which is significantly higher.

    Tint and tonneau for now

Sticker on my '13 DBCB, short bed SR5, tow package with sill and hood protectors, was just over 31k, maybe 31,100 ( I don't have sticker in front of me), and invoice was 29,970, so his numbers seem about right. As for not having anymore room, its up to the dealer. I had a couple dealers that would barely budge off of MSRP, saying basically if I didn't buy it, the next guy in the door will. Thats the big drawback on these trucks, high demand = sellers market.

This is what the "best deal" ultimately comes down to: The best deal is the one that makes you buy the vehicle. Just because person A says they got one for 10k off sticker, doesn't mean its true or that if it is, you can do the same.

Think I finally found my truck and a great deal we (dealer and I) can live with:

2013 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner TRD Sport Double Cab

    MRSP - $29,305
    Factory Invoice - $27,816
Dealer Quote - $26,000 + TTL (dealer fees are only $195)

Should be right around $28,600 OTD when all the dust settles.

    I will find out tomorrow...

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good dealer near the central coast in CA?? The local dealers here are not too great. I am willing to travel up north or south for a good deal. So far Folsom Lake Toyota has provided the best prices which is about 4hrs north of me.
