I've done a substantial amount of research, and I'm on the fence whether I should buy new or used. I don't need a 2013 but I would like to have a new truck without any body elses problem coming along with it. My magical number I want to spend 28 k for a new base 4x4 dbsb auto including ttl. I have no trade in, But I do plan on putting a fat down payment (at most 15k). Is 28k for what I want a little hopefull, or do I have a better chance of buying a a unicorn for 28 k out the door? This is my first new truck and I'm military so I have the 500 mil discount, as well as the USAA discount if it applies. Most dealership don't even carry the base configuration esp in the gulf states.

I think you should be able to get at least an base packaged DCSB 4x4. I just paid $31,500 with dealer fees before TTL. Mine was a fully loaded TRD sport 4x4 with the JBL/entune package. It also depends on what state your paying taxes through. Most states have benefits for military who are stationed outside of their residence on military orders, such as Florida, where I didn't pay any sales tax, only tag, title and registration fees.

We don't get many Baja's up here in Minnesota and it was a lot more then I wanted to spend but I knew I wouldn't get many more chances to get one just like I wanted it.

Nice! Really like the way the red came out here! It sort of looks like the old impulse red while other barcelonas tend to look a bit more burgandyish at times

After two Xterras I finally bought my first Tacoma!! It's a 2013 Magnetic Grey 4x4 with a tow package double cab. Its pretty basic but i paid 28k out the door with a 5k trade in. I love it and i cant wait to do some upgrades. first thing that is being done is the weather tech floor mats.

I figure $3k. Go to Edmunds or Nada and compare. Then apply your expected discount from MSRP or look at invoice. I did the same for access vs. Double and decided for the diff I will stick with double.

2013 super white DCSB trd sport and tow package. Msrp 32.8k sell price was 29980. I thought it was a good deal. Tho I had negative equity in my trade so 3k was added to the sell price.

Just picked up '13 4x4, dbl trd-off road, tow pkg, floor mats/door sill, auto trans:
    msrp: 32,875
neg down to: 29,750 before tax and tags

    * I had to use one dealer's 30,350 offer to get the other dealer to come down.

I had an '08 trd- off road with a manual 6 speed trans and I so miss that truck. Can't find a manual trd-off road in my area. It was totaled from an accident (not our fault).

    Thanks for a great thread.

My dealer is offering a 2013 V6 4x2 Prerunner, TRD Sports package, tow package and mats for $27,750.00, plus TTL. I've read through this thread and checked Truecar and it seems like a very good deal. We originally agreed to an SR5 @ $27,000.00, but they were unable to locate one in my area, so they're offering the TRD Sport.

    What do you guys think?

Been reading this forum for a few days.

    I want to buy a 2013 Pre-Runner, 4 cyl manual, SR5.

I don't need all the extra 4x4 or TRD not an off-roader, but do enjoy camping occasionally. I am big on fishing, and I just got a new Ocean Kayak. and wouldn't mind taking some motorcycles to the track.

    MSRP is around $24,000.

How much should I be looking to spend with my USAA discount? Is $22k OTD sound reasonable?

I already got approved through a credit union for a 2-5% apr. Waiting a month to finish paying of my motorcycle, and hopefully I get the lower end of the APR.

    Thanks

Some dealers will not push it because the '13 are just rolling off the lot. Best bet would be to take that offer and go to another dealer. Have your price (minus 500 for neg room) in mind and tell them they aren't close. I wants x and at least another dealer was offering 30,500. They should try to beat that price. Then ask to meet in the middle from their new price and your desired price.
