Who knows , same reason they never offered the factory heated leather package in the US you've been able to get here since 2008

The "who knows" part is clear. The "same reason" piqued my curiosity.

    No confusion No tard

    I'm always looking to learn.

So the US gets the Offroad DC & Canada gets heated leather seats. Well, that makes a lot of sense.

This confirmed another suspicion... I could not find an option for a double cab long bed until I realised that the long bed is standard here, there is no short bed!

I drove a 2006 Ram Quad Cab for a few months too and from what I found out the Tacoma DCLB is still about 6 inches shorter. It'll be a big difference from my Reg Cab Dakota unless I get a 6 speed.

Auto Vs. Manual is still in debate... I know the ball & chain would prefer an auto but she can drive a stick just fine:rolleyes:

You can get a DC shortbed , just not with an auto tranny

Yeah I understand that - I should've been more clear. THat's what I was referring to when speaking of choosing between an auto or 6 speed. Likely be an auto for the wife, but I know she'll complain about that extra foot of bed space.

    Its a lose-lose here boys

Another thing to consider in a purely technical aspect - the non e-locker diff has larger bearings and a bearing cap truss, aside from the seats and bed plug in, you may be better off with an arb in an already stiffer diff if you plan to run larger tires and do much offroading (and you can have oba!)

For me there just wasn't enough I wanted in the trd over the sr5 to justify the cost. Stronger diff and an oil cooler were my biggest wants! The seats are nicer though I agree ;)

    Oh, he's Canadian.

    Tacoma short bed = 1.52m
    Tacoma long bed = 1.83m

I had a 2004 SR5 that was TRD Off Road. It was manual and it was fun to drive.

The 2008 TRD Sport came with lots of extras I wasn't looking for, but the overall price was right. People like riding in it more. I do miss the manual. I don't miss the chrome. The JBL sound is much nicer than my old spartan radio, which frustrated iPhone passengers. I did find a use for the bed outlet for Christmas lights in a Christmas parade. Maybe eventually I'll tow something. Overall very happy with the Sport so far.
