    Hey everyone.

When I'm not listening to anything (push volume button to turn off), the screen just says AUDIO OFF. This seems like a silly design afterthought so I'm wondering if this is right. Shouldn't it be black or show a clock or something? Anyway... it bugs me. Ha.

You can always turn the music off and then find the "screen off" option in the radio and it goes black.
I am sure you can probably do that after pressing in the knob as well.

You don't like it? I enjoy the navigation and options that it has to offer. But I can see you replacing it if you are wanting to get a new sound system and what not!

Well, mine is non-nav. Beyond that, I just think it's silly that it looks like something is broken when I turn it off. Haha. I don't want to navigate a menu to make the display black. Know what I mean? But yeah. I've noticed it distorts before it gets loud. That's obnoxious. How much of that do you think it HU vs speakers?

a few folks here [me included] are keeping the stock deck [non-JBL] and simply adding amplification, speakers, sound deadening. i've had good luck so far, though haven't installed my amp yet [lazy].

i did check my 2013 Reg Cab Entune deck on an oscilloscope and saw no problems with output levels as far as "bass limiting" and distortion.

my 2014 shouldn't be any different. i am running a pseudo 3 way front end right now, all passive, and i like it. with amplification and better crossover control i will be even happier. for what and how i listen i don't feel the need for a subwoofer.
