My reservoir isn't in the best shape anyways. The lid is long gone and the plastic is getting brittle.

I had also thought of doing that only i was gonna relocate it into my toolbox so then i could use a 2 or 3 gallon res. Im allready building an air tank for my compressores so might as well strap a WWA tube to it and keep it all in once place. Just a little more hose and wire no big deal at all.

I destroyed my reservoir and ripped out my headlight wires hitting a branch on a dead tree on the ground. Don't wait unripe It's destroyed, just move it. It came right through the side bumper opening and we were out in the mud and I couldn't see shit. Kept having to get out and clean my windows with a water bottle.

Thanks Adam! really brought the whole truck together i think. I just sealed up all the seams with the tent sealer they include with it. Anxious to see if its actually water proof/resistant

Id be more concerned about dust proof personally. I bet it keeps the water out pretty dang good already.

aight help fellas. im fairly certain when i mount my 285s they are gonna rub the spindle gusset..... Im leaning towards just grinding the spindle a little like a half moon shape enough to clear the tires.... or do i do spacers? id rather not stress the bearings anymore than needed.... i dont think the half moon in the gusset will weaken it much at all. thoughts?

    Spacers suck.
Grind the spindle gusset, not the spindle. It will still stronger than a stock spindle, but not as strong as a fully gusseted spindle. If you can't get away with just grinding the gusset, time for new wheels with less backspacing.

cool man, i was looking for a response like that. That was my thoughts as well, even if i grind away some of the gusset its still stronger than factory

Don't know if spacers suck............ but they sure aren't ideal. haha 100% agreed with the rest.

    Yep...they suck.

In this situation Jace needs just a little bit more clearance. So what are his options? He can get a 1/4" spacer, which is probably all he needs, but then he's left with only lugcentric mounting capability and a lack of threads on the wheel studs (which by the way are already pathetically small diameter studs) holding the wheel + spacer on, even with an ET lug nut. In which case, if he's smart he would replace the studs with longer ones which are a giant pain in the ass and far from cheap.

The other alternative is at minimum 1" hubcentric spacer, but then you're putting that much more stress on the wheel bearings and premature failure is evident. Not only that, spacers turn into a fucking scrub radius nightmare for DD rigs (which I think his is) even at only 1".

BORA also makes a 3/4" spacer, but in order to run those you have to cut down the wheel studs even shorter so the studs clear the wheels, in which case you pretty much fuck yourself again in the future if you want to change wheels.

I stand by my previous statement...spacers suck.

haha yea.. i still havent gotten around to doing that.. and ive had the soft topper for over a year. never had a leak at a seam though.

as for the spacers.. IDK why you guys have such feelings against them.. ive never seen anything indicating that they are bad. I have seen people not use locktite and have them loosen up, but I've had my spidertrax on for over 50,000 miles and have had no problems. they actually saved me some damage by pushing my tires out further than the fenders lol.

IDK about the negative affects on wheel bearings.. im at 62,000 and havent replaced any wheel bearings yet. I would think it would be the same force as wheels with more back spacing.

not trying to cause any arguments.. just stating my opinion and looking to see if anyone has any contrary information.
