yea you don't need anything fancy...it's a safety and convenience factor with events like this when you'll be with so many trucks.

many of us could chime in and go through the benefits of having a cb, but either way, we'd like all attendees to have a cb.

handhelds can work, but if you get separated from the group, your range is not as far as if you had a box and antennae.

well everyone who commented about my tire fitment issues..... the deed is done.

silas, i got the bfh out....

I tried to keep it as nice looking as possible, but it is difficult. i must have cut and flexed and cut and flexed like 30 times.... im convinced its as good as its gonna get without tubing the firewall.... the pinch weld is virtually gone, fender flare got nicked a little and fender liner got loped off pretty good too. i also made a slight amount of clearance on my spindle gussets. plenty of room i think now:D
I also tried my skills with making steering stops. keep in mind my welds arent as nice as Silas's but its not going anywhere... i angled mine towards the lower ball joint for a nice flat surface contact. Took a long time to dial it in at exactly the right length. I found that the tire gets closer to the frame when stuffed, which makes it very easy to grind the steering stop too low when just checking unloaded.... but i am no longer rubbing frame at all flexing or not:D. when flexing its about half inch away, im comfortable with that. no for pics!

oh... and since my fener liner had to get trimmed past the pinch weld it allows, water and snow to get into the fender and on the front of the door... i dont like that because water will rust out the bottom of the fender. so i got the idea of expanding foam to fill that void. im gonna try it later today, when the ice melts off the truck. i plan to spray the foam from the door gap side in towards the fender liner.... im thinkin it will easily seal all my gaps. then i got some undercoating for the wheel well for where i beat on it:D

haha Nice! How big did your steering stops end up at? Kinda looks like you increased your turning radius more than me.

Like a bigger circle... Bigger turning radius meaning not tight. But I guess I was wrong, they just look bigger than mine in the pic for some reason... :notsure: Glad it solved the rubbing!!
