I've improved to an official "maybe". At least its trending in the right direction. Also put me down to lead Golden Spike and Moab Rim if you need someone. Still trying to decide if I wanna lead Cliffhanger again. :) Guess I gotta get my flatbed built first. :spy:

Bob, I might need some professional help making sure my rig will be ready with all that. Especially the recovery points. I probably won't have a HC rear bumper so I'm not sure how to go about that.
Also, how much do you think that entire collection of spare parts would be? Just a rough ballpark figure would be good.

Do you have the tow package on the back? Last year we just moved around a d ring that attached via the tow package if a rig needed to be towed. I think they run about $30-$40 if you just wanted to get one yourself.

I dont even have a guess on the dive shaft, but if you picked up the other parts at checkers, or autozone probably $300-$400 for all the spare parts (minus the driveshaft).
At those places, CV axles run from about $60-$100 each (although they dont seem to be as strong as the oem); tie rod ends are probably $20-$50 each, u-joints are probably just a bit more than the tie rod ends, and fluids can get pricey if you buy enough to fill everything, but honestly since 2nd gens are still so new fluids probably aren't a big priority unless you already know you are leaking something. Diff fluid would be good to refill the front diff after a cv swap, but unless you are locked up front, you probably won't break a cv, although it can still happen.

yup pretty much a good estimate there...driveshaft is a nice bonus to have but most everybody does not have a spare shaft around...most of the trails that you will be on will not run a risk of shaft damage...the cv's run the biggest risk along with tie rod ends..u-joints are and easy swap and relatively cheap, so having a spare or two is not a bad thing to have...

spare tire is a big thing to have too...you never know when one will go..

I just checked some prices at O'reilly's (may vary for your area, not sure)
    CV axles: $65-$75
    Tie rod ends: $36-$40
    Ujoints: $9-$23

No luck on the driveshafts. You could try a junk yard if you are really concerned, but I don't know of anyone hitting theirs last year. Just follow someone as capable as you and see how the ledges go. Ledges are usually what get them(ask me how I know:rolleyes:). There are bypasses on most obstacles.

Or two. haha. Both Btnewman and JLee had bad luck there...
