make sure you get a brush or broom so you can sweep out the sand...you'll get a lot in your tent whether you like it or not...

Will do. I assume sand is an issue regardless of what tent you bring.

    ...too much shit to list.
    Two words: Floor Mat

May seem odd to have a welcome mat in front of a tent, but it works so damn well. Literally, plop a mat in front of the door of your tent and kick off your shoes before you go in. Doesn't prevent all the sand/dirt from coming it, but sure as hell does reduce it.

yeap...especially when the winds pick up

last year a big wind storm rolled through and everyone's tents were red inside and out haha

it's to be expected when camping in a desert

I rafted in AZ for 5 days and you couldn't do anything to keep sand out. I just always use a freestanding tent then just pull the stakes and turn the tent over to dump it out. Only problem with that is that you have to empty the tent first. I don't keep much IN the tent so its pretty easy.

yeah, sand is always fun to deal with...

another tip some have learned the hard way in the desert :anonymous:

If you have a sleaping bag and pillow, put your pillow in the sleeping bag and zip it up while your out during the day. That way you don't have to shake all your crap out when you're going to bed. Or, if you had too much to drink, you won't have to worry about waking up in a sand box because you were too drunk to remember to shake your stuff out before getting in.
