all very good reasons. remember, you are out there representing not only yourself but the whole group you are with. and the actions you take can effect us in the future.

there is a reason why we don't charge registration fees for something like this. it's because we keep things below the limits and we don't cross over that line. this is a gathering more or less and the more we can keep on the good side of the city and blm the better for the longevity of this event.

if you want we can start charging registration fees for the event and go through the permitting and insurance that is required for large runs on trails. but a great thing about where we stand is that we're able to keep the size below those limits and keep it free to everyone but still provide great things like these giveaways, garbage on site and toilets on site...

hell if you guys are nice, we may even have some free event goodies to give away

Im sure that was one of the first questions i asked and didn't get this answere. I only have a few set days to run trails and this isn't one of them so don't stess. When i do run it ill be running it and MM in the same day

Wasnt trying to rub anyone the wrong way.. All i was saying is we don't have set days to run most of the trials we want to run so if we did end up doing it on the same day we wouldn't be in the way at worst just bypass a group and be on just to keep the flow going good and to maybe say hi to another group but thats about it.. We are all out there to wheel and have a good time.

Just found out that I get to spend an extra day (on the back end) :yay: now I can run something else on the 3rd and leave the fourth.cant remember who was staying later but hopefully we can arrange another day of wheeling.

Then I will be going to Durango to ride the train to and from Silverton. Makin a little second vacation.

It doesn't seem like it's clear yet. What Bob, Jace and I are saying is PLEASE don't run Trifecta the same day as the other two groups.....period. I'm not trying to be a dick about it, so I apologize if it comes across that way. But we're already looking at 20+ trucks on that trail for Thursday between the two planned groups. That is already at the limit where the BLM can start requesting that we have permits. If you guys are there too even if it's on your own we are all part of the same event and that's what the BLM looks at. That's too many trucks from the same event on the same trail on the same day. It's not about you being in the way, although that is possible too. Please do your best to cooperate. I'm sure you can shuffle your days easier with your smaller group than the "organized" groups can. It's already been pointed out that Friday looks like its totally open on that trail.

Ripcord already answered this, but as long as you show up for the trail run with a full tank of gas you'll be fine. Having a full tank at the start of each run is a good idea anyway.

What I have learned from this type of situation is that we all want to do everything, but that is just not possible. If you wanna run trifecta but didn't get on a list, you may have to just wait and do it next year or wait until the event is over and then try to join a group doing it. Either way you won't end up blemishing the TW meet that has been able to avoid some of the technicalities that big events like the Easter jeep summit probably has to adhere to.
It is hard to read someone's tone of voice through a post, so just realize these guys are being firm but not mean. I have had to adjust my planning due to the fact that I am a new off-roader. It was hard at first, and i was bothered by people telling me what i should or shouldn't do, but the best thing to do is to remove your emotions and realize that most people a trying to teach you or tell you something important that will help you or the group. Nothing wrong with being a noob, but it means I can't do some of the stuff that looks like fun, but it is for my own good, as well as the group. Next year will be a different story. I will have learned a lot about my truck, my abilities, the terrain, slick rock, spotting and being spotted and I will be confident in knowing what I can/can't, should/shouldn't do and will probably take on Moab rim and trifecta, but until then I will have a blast doing stuff that fits me better and doesn't risk the group or the meet, because we have an awesome thing going here and I certainly would not want to end that for the TW members that travel from thousands of miles away for this.

In summary, don't get bent out of shape if you have to arrange your trip differently, and if you wanna run trifecta, do it, just do it on a day that doesn't already have 20+ of our guys/gals doing it. And the meet is officially over on the second, so anything you do after that won't be associated with this event. Hope I didn't step on any toes with this response. If so, I apologize.
