I just watched the whole thing, and they never got into Canyonlands, although they did plan to, so not sure about the 4 rig thing.

Seemed way over dramatic, at least at the start. I love how they do the trip to test out the prototype jeep and they never show them doing anything with it. It just followed the Brute the whole way while the Brute broke trail, then they talk about how great the Jeep did, when pretty much everything it did the much less capable Land Rover did too:confused:

Oh yeah, definitely looks like a fun trip, would have been a blast to be on. If that rover could make it I would be fine too, except maybe that ledge that they winched it up. Thought the Brute was going to lose a bead for a sec. haha

True, for all we know they were just testing the motor:notsure:

looks like he had a beadlock system....something i CANNOT wait to get!

if hole in the rock does not materialize this go around, this would be a great alternate expedition.

and yes, i think their "testing" was the v8 swap...the brute has been around a while...unless they had some new suspension or components they were testing but did not disclose

True, didn't think of beadlocks. haha Would love to have some as well!

I just thought it was odd that at the start they seemed to make a big deal about going down to test out the "test jeep" but then just do everything with the Brute and pretty much focus on only the Brute.

    edit....

" Originally designed in 2002 (and a winner of the Daimler/Chrysler Design Excellence Award), the Brute is now available in kit form." from AEV

but other components could have been new at that point

but if you could create a "business expense" like this, wouldn't you take advantage of it? even if it was to test small products
