Long Canyon is a fun little drive. Not difficult but the scenery is great. You could easily spend some time hiking around on the way if you wanted.

I can't tell you about the bypasses on Behind the Rocks. I've never run Top-Toe which is the "bypass" version of the trail. White Knuckle definitely doesn't feel right when you do it. Kinda sketchy, but I think it's rare that anyone actually screws it up badly. For Tacomas skidplates would be a good idea. I've only done it in my 80 on 35's and was close to dragging, but most Tacomas here are slightly lower and longer belly.

yea i guess the "bypass" is a spur over to the picture frame arch trail (behind the rocks rd)...more of an alternate exit i guess versus a typical bypass

hoping to get in the area early and run a trail like long canyon and spend a day exploring on foot..

    thanks

Haha. Both;) Although axle wrap won't exactly be an issue for me I don't think until I get a blower anyway and that is a few years out. But preferably driveshaft protection. I dont need to destroy another driveshaft...

How does one make a drive shaft skid? Just for the bearing, or the whole section going to the rear axle from the bearing?

AhHa! Very nice, did you make it yourself? Where does it attach up front, by the carrier bearing?
