For straight up rockcrawling I'd pick the FJ40 hands down. My FJ40 was SO much fun in the rocks. I still have my FZJ80 and the solid axle is nice in the rocks but the truck is just so big. While it does great in the rocks I still take the FJ40 if you're looking for something as a project to play in the rocks.

I test drove an FJ and felt like I couldn't see anything - maybe you just get used to it. I also didn't like the rear doors and access to the backseat. It would be an issue for me (primarily wifey) and the future car seats it would have to hold a couple years down the line.

I thought the taco was the best all-around vehicle.

There was talk of possibly doing a multi-day trip down there this summer. It's somewhere in the CO BS thread...somewhere...

Whitecloud was with us that day and he made the run in his DCLB trail limo. Though he was doing 57-point turns on the switch backs when everyone else only needed 22. :D

THe proverbial needle in the haystack. That thread has way too much BS to try to look for that conversation. I will just wait for it to come back up.
I figured thats how it would go.
I saw a LT FJC this last weekend. I was snowbashing and saw a guy with Nebraska plates and a beautiful FJ. Except he turned around before the snow even got deep. What a waste I thought.
    ummm....no. ;)

It was only a 50 point turn actually. :p:D There is a good chance that Black Bear is on the list to do on the way back after Moab.:spy:

We could have a Limo meet on Black Bear!!!
That doesn't look too bad. The hairiest switchbacks start at around 2:45 in the video and seem to be very doable with some people to get out and help spot. The video is of a DCSB so I'm sure I would need a couple extra points on the turn, but nothing too ridiculous.
