    :thumbsup: Oh I know man, but as I am sure you are, I absolutely don't like to concede to a challenge, so I was just seeing if there was any decent methods but clearly from the last 2 pages there isn't really. Not at all saying it would ruin anyone's day, just would love to be able to conquer it.

    One trick for all you open diff guys is when youre in the crack and in first gear just keep the tires turning slow as you can and use your brakes. it will force torque to transfer through the diff to the wheels with traction.. it's not full proof but ive cheated a few obsticals like that when i went down open front diff.


    yeah if it's all easy like 40% of the middle section it gets really lame.

    go on konsta...I thought that only worked with an LSD. So if you 4lo and L and ride the brakes or on/off the brakes it can transfer to the wheel with traction?

    Lots of open guys were setting their e-brakes in Moab last year, especially on Kane's Creek. Where were you? haha

    Texas guy blew up one of his wheel cylinders on the trail though, although I can't figure out if that could be related to riding his e-brake or not. haha

    apparently i was NOT setting my e brake....i seriously think I was told that only works on LSDs. I mean even if it works a little bit for a second just to get some movement out of that tire on the ground that would be cool haha. Apparently I never got the message over my messed up CB:rolleyes:


    also jerry found the go pro vids from kane creek...so as soon as he gets them to me Ill work on a vid and spread the stoke:spy:

    Well the only guys I know that were using it were LSD, although it was E-LSD guys so maybe it is just LSD that it works for.

    setting the e-brake a couple clicks or using the actual brake pedal helps simulate a LSD diff. It's also referred to by some as the po' mans locker. Doesn't matter what diff setup you have, it'll work. It works by adding just a bit of resistance to the wheel lifted in the air so that at least some power will go to the wheel still on the ground.

    edit: yes, the texas guys blew up a rear brake cylinder because he was using this method. However, it happened because he set his ebrake and left it that way for the entire hill and that little hill after the little creek crossing after the big hill. Only apply it when needed and not pre-emptively.

    I didn't want to just say that it did it, cuz I wasn't sure. I had a wheel cylinder start leaking with my Taco sitting in my driveway. haha So I didn't want to rule out that it might just be poor quality wheel cylinders or something.

    I did all MOAB in 4Hi and open diff with no problem on any single trail, except when I almost fell off the cliff on Kane's but that had nothing to do with obstacles haha!
