I use Mobil 1 0-30. They only say 0-20 because of the millage. I end up using a quart between changes with the lighter oil. I put the zero thirty in it and it does not lose any oil. My 2012 2.7 I also use 5 quarts.

0w20 and 5w20 sythetic is priced the same..... there is ZERO point not to run 0w-20 as it offers better start up protection.

The noise you hear when you shut the engine off is the electric air pump....an emission control item.

My 2.7 liter 2TR-FE takes 6 quarts of oil... as per the manual.

I just changed my oil on my 2013 Taco, but, and there's always a but...I put in 5 -30 synthetic.

    Why?

Because I didn't get any owners manual with the truck. Yeah, I know - STUPID! - What's done is done. I could have looked it up on the internet...before I changed it.

    I'm stupid, I admit it.

My Question is - Am I going to do any harm using the 5 -30? If so, I'll just drain my NEW oil and put in OTHER NEW OIL like, 0 - 20 or 5 - 20.

This is the newest vehicle I have ever owned, and I'm not used to all the newer ways of, sh*t, just changing my damn oil!

Is yours a V6? on my 2.7 it says 0W20 on the filler cap so you have the info even without a manual. IMHO I would not be concerned about using 5w30 for 5k miles. Just change back to 0W20 next time if that is what the V6 requires.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
it looks like you have a v6,so using the 5w30 is fine and recommended by Toyota for your truck
