Maybe? Still an I4 stick will beat an I4 auto all day long, anywhere. Even the EPA agrees by 2 mpg advantage stick.

Well for the last day I have been pulling trailers for about 80% still got 15.10 mpg I still think that's great! Compare to my 2012 tundra that would even get 14.4 with no trailer. So all y'all wanting a big tundra with 5.7 my Tacoma does just fine pulling.

Dude, you are confusing V6 and I4.

Sure V6 owners are complaining, but you won't find stick I4 2wd owners complaining. Take a look yourself.

    EPA 2wd I4 manual is combined 23, EPA 2wd I4 automatic is 21,
    EPA 4x4 V6 manual is 17, EPA 4x4 V6 automatic is 18.

You should stop, your ignorance is showing.

No, you should stop. maybe too late. The epa is not accurate. On any configuration. Bad info in, bad info out. The epa #'s are as wrong for the v-6 guys as they are for the I-4 guys. According to the EPA, your FOS on your milage. And so am I. Case proved.

Keep going, you haven't proven your main point which is I4 2wd automatic drivers get better mpg than I4 2wd manuals, because you can't.

Most drivers that want to try, beating the EPA is easy, but EPA are usually pretty accurate in relative terms on different models in the same line, hence I4 sticks beat autos, and V6 autos beat sticks............ on average. Anyone can easily fall short of EPA numbers too.

listen Wad, I'm not going to copy and post 50 mpg claims of each just to satisfy you. You use inaccurate epa's and call it a day. You cant prove sticks are better. I been looking around, and stick guys are mpg inconsistant at best. What I see looking around here, depsite what you say, is that the auto is getting better more consistant mpg.
FYI, I just banged out combined 25 mpg without trying on a new truck, in winter, access cab, hilly terrain. EPA is out to lunch.

I bought my taco back last Sept 2012 and now have close to 7K miles on mine(4 cyl/auto/factory stock) and here in Ohio we had a mild winter again.

I'm averaging 21 mpg with lowest at 19 mpg and my best when new and driving on empty roads using minimal throttle I got 24 mpg.

If I drive on the local freeways here(many in Columbus, OH) and try and stay with the flow of traffic during the day the gas economy suffers big time!

I'm trying to see how "AdrenlineJunky" getting 27 mpg as I can't get better than 24 mpg and barely touched the gas pedal to get that.

    Regards, Ron

So you have nothing to back your incorrect assertions. You've been here a month and have concluded what you want to believe despite plenty of evidence to the contrary. Look a little more.

FYI I get 28-30 in winter, access cab, mostly city, some mountain with a stick, for me EPA is out to lunch too. I get 32-35+ summers.

Well my 2005 dc Tacoma pre- runner v-6 auto 5 speed 2wd drive got 24mpg but my 2013 dc Tacoma v-6 4wd the best I ever got is around 21 but mostly you can bet on 17.9 the best thing you can do run the crap out of it still get 17.0 but when you get ready haul a trailer around 4,000 to 5,000 pounds it still can do it and get around 15 mpg . I need a little power that why I chose the v-6 The tacoma is a very large truck to tow 6500 pounds.
