So I recently got in touch with Ben3dBuild to get a custom Ultraguage mount built into my sunglass console. Here is a picture of someone else's mount already installed.

In order for the Ultraguage to work it needs to maintain a connection to the OBD II port and since I currently live in an area that requires an emission test I wanted to get a splitter so I found this splitter.

This way I can have an open port for the emissions test and the Ultraguage will not need to be reprogrammed since it needs to maintain a connection. FYI if you are interested one of the terminals will pop right into the slot of the OEM bracket which was nice. I also ran this OBDII extension to get to the top. It was way more than I needed but I always prefer to have too much than too little.

It was a huge pain the run the cable but after I got everything plugged in my stereo screen's color got distorted and comes up super white. It works fine and after 10 minutes or so it reverts to normal. Since it returns and works while the screen is white I do not really mind but I am assuming it has something to do with the splitter since the extension is literally a cable. Anyone know what is going on or if there is any fixes for it? Attached picture of what it looks like.Tacoma Headunit 2.jpg Tacoma Headunit 1.jpg

If you unplug the cable does it still do it?

I have not tested that yet since it is kind of tight up there but I am going to when I get a chance to do so today.

That is very odd as the OBD2 System isn't connected to the Stereo at all other than the common power source ( battery ).

This must be a fluke coincidence...

Unplug the cable from the OBD2 Connection under the left side of the dash and see if it still happens.

Looks like it does when you press too hard on the screen.

I thought it was that at first like maybe I bumped it when working on the dash but it returns to normal in 5 to 10 minutes like nothing was wrong and will revert to this when the truck is off for more than an hour.

That is what is confusing me so much and what I thought. I am going to unplug it after work and see what happens and report my findings.

Possible RF interference from the cable (length) connecting the OBD2 to the Ultragauge?? Then maybe after 5-10 minutes the RF interference stabilizes??

UPDATE: Since posting this thread it has not reverted to the lighter screen and has been normal. No clue what caused it lol.
