So many are ready to hang the dealer tech... I wouldn't be so quick to hang the dealer. I also think he should be honest about the whole thing.

From what he said the oil was changed on "August 8 and truck had been running fine". I understand a slow leakage, but it seems someone would have noticed oil on the driveway and it was nearly a month ago ( 5 days shy of a month ). I wonder how often he checks the oil level?

I know we all like to stroke each others heads and feel good, but to try and nurse an engine home after the oil pressure light comes on is not ... uh how should I put this... the best thing to do.

Looking forward to the rest of the story...

I've always said that the Low Oil Pressure light is the You're F___ed light. When it comes on, shut the engine off immediately! Of course it's a little late for that advice right now.

Oh, and can we stop with the "Don't tell them you did something wrong" advice? That's just as bad as the dealer messing something up and not saying anything - maybe worse.

Do you really think that they will do anything for a truck with 200,000 miles?

Its true. Oil light is not like a check engine light. Oil light never comes on until your engine does not have oil at all. Basically all or nothing light, nothing in between.

When i had an oil light come on in my car immediately shut the car off. When i pulled the oil pan off, my oil pick up tube snapped off.
