Anyone made a hood or shade mod for their touchscreen? I'd be interested to see.
It engrages me when touchscreen gimmicks replace physical button setups in applications like this where they only impair functionality.
I intend to dynamite this thing out of the dash like an old tree stump so I can replace it with a more sensible head unit. Just hafta wait for my bank account to respawn after the tax man's ultra kill yesterday.

Did you adjust the brightness settings?

^^This. There is an option in the display settings to set the brightness to "daytime" or something like that. I couldn't see my screen at all during the day when my headlights were on. Since I altered that setting its been perfectly fine.

Yeah, just leave your DRL's on during day and headlights at night, it should be alright

On the touch screen click on "SETUP" and up top hit "GENERAL"

There is a daytime feature that enhances the brightness.

I love it. Blame the technology. Turn your headlights off during the day.

On my jbl entune I had the same problem. If i flipped it to Drl you only get yellow running lights.turn headlights on(wont see option unless lights are on!) then hit setup button, then display on top right of screen, then hit day mode.

I never have lights on during the day unless it's sufficiently gloomy. I do notice the screen darkens when I turn them on at night. I haven't tried brightness adjustment. Hard to imagine it'll output enough to combat direct sunlight angles, which currently make the screen invisible. But I'll give it a shot.

It's still bullshit to replace a car radio interface which allows easy tactile-only operation with a touchscreen which makes eyes-off operation nearly impossible.
    Crowbar ready.

Same issue with my pioneer, thinking about ditching it for something with buttons. Brightness all the way up does nothing
