    Hi Tacoma World,

I ride a 2013 Toyota Tacoma access cab and I recently purchased some bilstein 5100's for front and rear with the ICON add a leaf in the back. I plan on keeping the factory springs and maybe running the top rung on the bilsteins for maximum ride height but I'm worried that may be a bad idea considering I already have a 1.5" leveling kit installed. I added some photos of the current suspension

I also have an AirLift airbag suspension installed which I currently rarely use due to the fact that I am not running a rooftop tent just yet. With all this considered, what is the highest rung I could rest the spring loader on my bilstein 5100's without risking heavy wear and tear on suspension?

Ditch the leveling kit, just use the bilsteins and you’ll be golden, I recommend buying new top hats, hate to pair all that worn rubber with your shinny new bilsteins

when I had my 5100s installed I was at the 4th ring and it was perfect, as long as you’re a v6 you should expect to see that 2.5 2.75in lift in the front492BC44F-FE74-4685-91E6-A8774065F4E9.jpg

Good to know, I was also wondering about possible options for new UCA's? they are quite expensy so I was gonna without them but I'm running 285/75/16 and nothing currently rubs because im also running 1.25' spacers from spider trax as well. but I still wonder what is recommended. Do I need new UCA's?

Lots of guys go with SPC as they are adjustable to suit many different needs, I believe I last saw them for around $670, I personally run dobinsons UCA with a set 3° of caster so far they’ve been great. Some guys here run JBA control arms I know I’ve seen some posts on it those are on the cheaper side about $460

I ran with stock control arms for awhile but my alignment numbers always suffered because of the stock UCA. so buy once cry once they were worth it

285s and no rubbing?? Can I see some pics of your truck, you don’t have a cab mount chop or anything? Do you off-road any?

Thanks! your Tacoma looks really clean too. These wheels are off of an FJ TRD, I have the 5th wheel but haven't figured how I want to mount it yet. I didn't need to trim fortunately, the wheel spacers helped as well.

Yes, I'll be installing it myself. I'm also installing a new clutch disc assembly and clutch plate with URD throw-out bearing upgrade. Lots to do!

Not sure if you know how already but here’s a method on how to install the struts without a spring compressor, by far my favorite method makes things so much easier as the spring compressors you rent from and auto parts store are just difficult
