    A couple things:

OTD is not the same as Blue Book. Blue Book doesn't include taxes and fees, OTD does - no matter what vehicle you buy. So you should be comparing the sales price your uncle quoted you of 25997, to the 27760 Blue Book.

There are some tasteful mods, like aux lights, roof rails, and a hard tonneau, that are worth some bucks. Would you replicate any of these mods on another truck you purchase? If so, that is worth some consideration. If you wouldn't do any of them, then they add no value to you.

Your uncle is probably limited in the kind of deal he can give you. He probably didn't pay too much for the trade, but rather, he knows the owner of the dealership would be pissed if he gave away any more easy profit than that. It is his job, and he is working for someone else, so your uncle has limits.

Regardless of the up-charging of the "prep" work, you have to ask yourself: is this the market price for a Tacoma you want? I doubt you will find an identical one for much less than your uncle's quote. With new brakes and tires. If you don't care for this particular truck, that's a good reason to walk. But pricing (overall) doesn't seem that far off to me.

Yes, you can get a newer 3rd gen for not much more. I had the same choice, but chose the 2nd gen.

Not trying to talk you into it, but I just don't think the all-in pricing is all that far off - but only if you love the truck. No love = no deal.

You have very valid points sir! The blue book to my understanding was what the bank can finance up to and my credit union does 100% so if they’re at 27760 for that truck I already knew they couldn’t go over that adding the taxes that’s why I needed the price at 27760 OTD from dealer so I wouldn’t come out of pocket, but now that the dealer added the tax and fees from 25997 it puts me over banks blue book and can’t even finance it from my bank unless I put money down and to me that tells me I’m not getting a solid deal... of it was at banks blue book than I’d be all over it

No, no... the $1200 is the total labor, for what they paid some tech maybe 6 hours for.

The ball joints, confusingly enough, have no labor charged. Which is rather odd since I see nothing else that would be even close to making them redundant. Maybe they have some weird restrictions on how high the labor could go, so they just crammed it all into those $180 a piece ball joints?

Probably have to wait awhile to find a better deal but they are out there. I paid less then that 4 years ago for a 2013 trd sport

Seriously though, what else does the baja come with other than graphics? Is it just a interior/trim thing? They all have the "beadlocks" right?

Trd bilstein coilovers and rear shocks. The bitching graphics, all the options. The beautiful wheels. And it was in my favorite color.

Just saying the sport is cheaper out here vs a off-road and tx baja model. The same dealership had a 2015 black sport for 23,997 with 62k miles
