So if you just wanted the extra 2" of lift and almost the same ride as a baja in the front, couldn't you just replace your factory springs with a set of baja springs?

No, baja has a different shock body compared to every other tacoma. Also pretty sure you cannot purchase the baja spring by itself only as a baja kit. Most looking for just a front basic lift with decent ride quality run 5100's

I test drove an Off Road and a Baja back to back before I bought my Off Road. The Baja was noticeably stiffer at 45 mph and below on bumpy roads. Combination of the LT tires and stiffer springs? I'm just hoping I can find something that will lift my truck a bit and still be factory comfortable. I wouldn't be happy with the Baja suspension, especially for the price.
Oh btw, I counted the leafs in the back. The Baja definitely does have an extra leaf.

I think jandrews was saying the Baja is $5k more than an SR5, which is about right.

The baja is running the TSB leaf pack. If your 3 leaf pack isn't enough and you can prove it, and complain enough the dealership will through that same 4 leaf pack on your Tacoma. I bought my Tacoma with the 4 leaf pack, because the previous owner was using it to tow a camper.

So what are the differences between a 2013 DCSB TRD Off Road and a 2013 DCSB TRD Baja T|X Pro? I know the Baja T|X Pro has the two tone beadlock wheels with the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO LT265/75R16 tires and the Off Road has the silver rims with BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain P265/70R16 tires. The Baja T|X Pro has the Baja suspension with Bilstein reservoirs/3" coils which has a 2" lift vs the Bilstein shocks on the Off Road and a TRD Performance exhaust. If you put the same tires on the Off Road, got the Baja suspension and the TRD exhaust installed, would that make it a Baja T|X Pro then?

Yes, but I wouldn't waste the money on the baja suspension. You can get better aftermarket suspension for less.

The Baja was just Toyota's attempt at competing with the Ford Raptor. Neither of which are ideal though really... just a scheme to reel in suckers for more money. Neither are as good as what you can build with the extra money you shell out for those packages.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
OR you can buy whatever tacoma you want and put the Baja suspension on it for $1550.

It is more like 1.75-2 inches higher in the front, i preloaded my springs with the daystar(i think) 3/4 poly isolators that wheelers sells. And i love it. In my opinion it rides way better than the stock offroad suspension did, and i have not had any issues at all with it.

I also did my Mom's truck (2011 sport) and she loves it as well.

It rides a little bit stiffer on the highway but it rides much much better offroad dips etc.

I also removed my sway bar

Im not saying that there are no better etc etc, but i really like it.

I have 5100's on the 4runner and its quite a bit different.

i made a ramp to jeep park in my friends back yard, the trash was there and we were bored.

i never used the 1/4 spacer, i dropped the pass side coil to the 1/4" lower ring instead so i wouldnt have any top spacers

Anything factory is tuned to spec and also warrantied under factory. For people like me that don't have the time building and modifying my perfect sheet metal.

All in all, I love it compared to my 2012 trd which I traded to get a better exhaust, roof rack, side step bar, sub woofer included, .....,true that you can go aftermarket.....but that's when you are going serious off roading and your truck becomes a rig and not a daily driver per say.

Either way you love yours and I love my Baja. Love it's stance and looks.

Her nose is lifted and she does not sag. Right out of factory floor she roars out the parking lot crying for attention as the jbl woofers lament..." Ready to two jeeps". .

Oh sorry folks...was checking out my truck again as I type.

The raptor is no apple to Apple comparison with the Baja ...totally different class. Although the Baja should be complimented for its agility and ability to keep up with a raptor stock from factory.

Plus I get the factory gas mileage with upgrades on my truck compared to when you add icons or kings etc.

My ride is perfectly comfortable and also I can bring anything for the next 7 years...pay no deductible and get it towed free from the dunes and fixed at no cost with factory tested products.

Don't hate on the Baja ...you drive a Toyota. It is a factory build just like anyone building their trucks to their taste. This was built to mine and to most.

You should be proud that toyota also makes a pretty tacoma off the factory line...not only that it is the most expensive tacoma off the line wether you like it or not. To a private party it will be valued more left stock. You and I know that you do not make any money selling your truck with all the icon and kings you have added. It only makes your truck appealing and may sell quickly.
k.. You decide.. I am also not stupid to start changing out parts when that's what I liked in the first placed. One they bake off while off roaring then I will or go avid off-roading on stock appeal.

    Baja dat!

The Baja is a cool package but seriously I feel Toyota should just sell it as a dealer option and that way people could get it and not complain about it being a limited edition

they should also change the pricing, making you pay for trd offroad package and baja package is overcharging..

Baja package should be a higher package, icluding all of the trd offroad package rather than paying for 2 and getting 1.5 packages. :)

they give you some sort of "refund" for the OR parts they take off so they can build the Baja.

I can't remember where I saw the #'s, could have been on the "build and price" section of Toyota's website

I agree with about half of this. Don't feel like disputing it right now though... haha Just enjoy your Toyota man! Like you said, it's still a Toyota:cheers:

I LOVE my current setup and it took a lot of hard work to get it this way (not to mention grinding and cursing): TRD Sport with 5100's maxed out to 2.5" and wheelers super bumps up front and 96-04 Tacoma Fox 2.0 10" stroke external remote reservoirs mounted to the frame with Deavers F85 springs meant for 96-04 Tacoma and Tundra with stock overload spring left in place for a nice 2.25" additional lift in the rear. Bump stop has been replaced with polyfoam ones made for Chevy silverados and a ubolt flip kit from allpro off-road. The overall lift is perfect with just a slight amount of rake to it. The ride is so perfect both on and off road and the shocks and bumps combination just absorbs heavy and hard blows like a king. If I had to do it all over again I would.
