2013 w jbl bass out of control...

my recently acquired 2013 double cab with the OEM JBL speakers has a weird problem. The bass is way overkill. I consider myself an audiophile and love all types and volumes of music, but this thing is distorting from bass even at several notches below the 'even' or 'normal' setting. Many tunes I have to adjust the bass all the way to left to keep the door speakers from coming out of the door.

Is there a center bass sub under the dash I don't know about? Again, I bought the truck used but as it was a lease truck, I am pretty sure it is all stock. It sounds great if I turn bass all the way down, but wondering if the head unit has gone haywire or something.

Any help or comments appreciated.

 

Get rig of the jbl system is all I can say. Its a joke.

 

I have a 2009 TRD Sport with the JBL system and I changed out the head unit with a Pioneer AVH5500 and this system rivals a $2000.00 system. It kicks ass. I refuse to change it, I'd just be wasting money.
