I thought I had remembered you discussing with somebody in another thread about not wanting the skids to vibrate and rattle against the exhaust

If they're touching the wrap it'll chafe right through. It just helps keep the trans case and u-joint from cooking.

Yeah yeah the tape is strictly for heat. I have about 3/4" clearance between the skid plate and the exhaust. Won't be any rubbing for me! Someone told me the skids can rub depending on what kind you get. I won't have that problem now. Toyota put a lot of effort into keeping heat off of the transfer case. It has double walled pipe, a double walled heat shield, and some decent space between the pipe and tcase. I heat wrapped it to reduce te heat since the heat shield was removed and the pipe is a lot closer to the tcase.

Everytime I see an alpine white Taco I wonder if I checked the wrong box on my build sheet....they are beautiful.

How is it you were able to find a TRD sport with a 6 speed but I have to wait months for one to get built...damn it! My first world problems arent fair!!

Subbed again, pelfrey gets my vote as always.

I'm going to do the exhaust reroute myself later this month when I start pulling the truck apart for repairs, rattle finding, and installs before a trip in December.

Excited to see where this goes welcome to the SB community haha.

    Thanks dude^^

Did some minor crap today. Painted some shit
    [IMG]

And for some reason the 2014 doesn't have those plastic kick panels here like the earlier tacos does. So I laid down some vinyl to help prevent rubbing through the paint there and ugly scratches.

The door panel covers are an add-on "accessory".

There's no holes for them either. Have to drill the holes. Except they're square. Seems silly.

That Y looks tits. You do that yourself? Thank Tyler of Pelfrybilt for that idea. He pointed me in the right direction on easily solving the Y pipe stupidity of toyota. Seriously, who the fuck hangs exhaust below the frame... Also if you didn't do so already, move that T-case shield up by mounting it on the top of the frame mounts and screwing the bolts in from the top. Gives you an extra 1/4" clearance without really sacrificing anything.

All this talk of Pelfrybilt has me reconsidering my ARB bumper. Spoonman, if you go for this option could you post how the process of getting that stuff across the border worked for you...may be a great option.

They do really good offroad, on ice they're not very good. But for real deep snow they rock
