    hey all,

Looking for some recommended audio upgrades to my 2014 DC. Is the audio system relatively the same for all 2nd gen models? Looking for good quality while not going overboard on the price. Thanks!

    Here’s what I’ve got installed

    CCD98902-87C5-45C2-98FB-80B32652FB63.jpg
Kicker component setup with sound deadening. Paired with an alpine power pack. The sound is incredibly clear and incredibly loud. Not much bass with just the speakers and tweeter, but I added an 8” self amped sub and that really rounded the system out

they are good but damn expensive... you can build a much better system and save lots of money

when it comes to car audio, there will always be a "cheaper" option.... but as far as customer service, quality, ease of installation, and reputation, Taco Tunes are hard to beat.

Not the speakers. I bought speakers to install and when I opened my door panels up these speakers were already there! I had no idea because I bought the truck used early 2016 and never pulled the door panels off. But I did add the amp and sub sub myself. The amp really made the biggest difference, it really woke up these kickers

Yeah, I’d love to have good sound quality without overwhelming bass to drown it out. Sounds good I’ll look into it!

do the install yourself. super easy. just cut out a sat morning. the guy up there with the pic has sound deading...which makes a world of difference. that takes teh most time. but the time spent doing it yourself allows a much bigger speaker/stereo/amp budget. i have two sets of db6501, a JL sub (forget the model) alpine pdx5 amp and an alpine single din hu. if i was buying a head unit today i would get the alpine 149bt but your results may very if you prefer a double din. crutchfield is great for head units as they include the wiring harness and brackets. i used sonic electronix for some stuff as well. a sub is a must. love cranking it up sometimes.

i'm not allowed to say anything about taco tunes any more. the mods slapped my pee pee last time i did.
