The bed bolts are T55. The bolts that come with the D rings are T40.

I have a 2014 Tacoma, and no doubt the bed bolts are T55.

Sure your Torx bit isn't mismarked?

They're all correct. It is T55. I actually had a T40 and went out to take them out, said "oops" and went down to my friendly neighborhood hardware store (we still have one) and bought the T55. I'd add that I'd get the Dodge rings, which don't have to be drilled out, which just removes the coating for the rust to get started. I started with two of the surplus rings, drilled them out, ground off the retaining ridges to get the retaining washer off, and didn't like what I'd done. I ordered the Dodge rings and pulled the surplus. I coated the bolts where I'd ground off the ridges with Plasti-dip. The other rings, I just knocked off with a 2 lb sledge and a 1 1/8" impact socket (3/4" drive). I had a neighbor pass away who had a 12 ton hydraulic press, which I bought from his widow and pressed the washers back on. I think you could bang them back on with the hammer and two sockets stacked and avoid grinding off your bolts' finish.

I also added two rings on the two back bolts, because I had them. I went down to Home Depot a few days ago and bought a few 1 x 4s. The two rings close together on one side were perfect for the stacked boards, with a bungee over them...

Nice bike! Couple questions..I have a 2014 gsxr that I plan on loading In the bed..did you have any problems with the tailgate bending while loading the bike in? I've read quite a few posts about the tailgate being really weak and getting messed up even when loading sport bikes..also do you have a short bed or long bed?

I did not notice any flex at all in the tailgate or the cables. I have a 6 ft(long) bed. Must leave tailgate down because the bike is 6'6" inches('05 GSXR 1000) I believe the older Gen 1 tacos had weaker tailgates. qesy8ery_d342ee68074ba13f410c2ba92cf68a3d377769d6.jpg

    I second this.
I used anti-seize on the bolts though. They were a bitch to get out. Once I got a little fluid film in the threads they were easier.
Used Dodge rings for the bed and HD rings for the spot above the tailgate for lighter hold down stuff, if needed.

Here is a pic. I'll have to look up the online store I ordered the rings from. You can also order them from your local Dodge dealer. I opted to order just because the dealer is really not convenient. I think I did have some problem locating the right part #, so I'll try to look it up...
