2014 defrost a/c mod help

I have tried the remove green wire on the connector behind the glove box on my 2014 tacoma to stop the a/c from running during defrost but did not work. I asked question in the original forum on this but no answer. just wondering if anyone here may have an idea what might need to be done.

they changed the logic at some point (maybe 2012+ not sure) but you have to pull the green wire and splice it into another wire. let me see if i can find it

Been running with the above linked to mod since i bought my truck 4 years ago, no issues and full control of everything. Just one extra step when i do actually want to run the compressor with defrost selected

 

Ditto. I had troubles at first until I realized the process was different on my '14. The link above takes you where you need to go.

 

Boom lol. Thank you. Will try this weekend. As in splicing green to pink wire did you just use a quick splice connector?
