Good race but going to be a boring season is Ferrari/Red Bull can't catch up with Mercedes.

 

Is that on top of the 10 second stop and go penalty or did he retire and not serve that?

 

I think there will be a significant improvement in Red Bull and Ferrari over the season , maybe not enough to challenge Mercedes for the Championship this year but by end of season I think there will be more parity

Yeah, I remember, that was bad. I just thought that because they caught it and he got a 10 sec stop go, then that was it. You know no harm no foul, but I guess not.
I wonder how much of this has to do with Red Bull challenging the disqualification and appeal that is in motion. Along with the comments from Vettel calling out the sound of the cars, and the tweet from Horner just before the start saying that the FIA fuel sensor had already failed on the warm up lap...Politics....

 

I don't think any of it is politics , the rules are the same for everybody

 

I'm kinda hopeful that Riccardo will get the 2nd place position back on appeal, but think RB will not get any constructors points. Will know in two weeks what the final word is on the appeal.

Anyone heard how far over his fuel rate was? I don't recall seeing that. Yes, rules are rules, but just curious over the level of "wrongness"

As for this race, glad to see the relibility went up, at least for the lead teams, but disappointed that some of the non-lead (not Ferrari, Mclaren, or RBR) teams are not keeping up. Was very much hoping to see some true multi-team lead racing. I hate dominance by any team.

Looks like Ferrari and RBR have problems with top speed or getting full power down whether its aero or traction. The best racing was near the end with Alonso and Hulkenberg. Vettel did get close to Rosberg but it didn't last.

I would prefer closer racing but this is F1 and I'm used to seeing the dominate team stretching the lead.

 

Correct, but way off the pace. If Riccardo had not retired, first 5 spots would have, more than likely, gone to the 3 lead teams.

Hey, I might be asking for too much, just like a competitive race without having to look back a bunch of positions. Alonso's drive on the end was good, as was the Williams' race.

Don't get me wrong, I still watch, and will watch, all the races.

 

Sounds like Ferrari was struggling to get the tires to work on their car which is a problem that dogged them all of last season too

Very happy Williams had a double points finish. Imagine the conversation that happened in the pits after Massa didn't let Bottas through.
