Pretty entertaining race. I hate NBCSports though, tape delayed until 5pm here then right at the start the ticker on the bottom announced the winner. ftl

 

Watch it via NBCsports live streaming online if ya can. The races seem to be available 3-5 hours after finish. No spoilers or anything as it is just the live race replayed. Just dont read the headlines ot the right hand side of the page as they spoil shit there

I did agree with Lauda a bit on this one. The 45 minutes it took just to replace a barrier that was on a straight-away and on the backside of a barrier seemed a bit odd to me. Like Lauda said the chances of someone hitting it again were slim. It also wasnt totally destroyed either from what i saw. But on the other hand safety is safety and if someone had hit near that spot again im sure they would want a fixed barrier.


Still an interesting race. Glad Kimi walked away from that. Great reaction by Massa to turn to the right and avoid the head on as well!

I don't have a favorite driver. Team wise is Mercedes but only cause Lauda is there. Dad was a huge fan of him. Got to see him, hunt, and some other big names in long beach years ago. I was named after Lauda and even though I never saw him race he is one of my favorites cause he is my dad's. So whatever Lauda goes...that's the team I root for

That's just the thing. Make tethers super strong and then another part will fail. Make that stronger and something else fails. The nbc announcers mentioned it in their broadcast about how the tethers are doing a good job but to make them stronger you might end up with a tire and suspension flying instead of just a tire. 47g is hard to make a whole car strong enough to withstand and I personally think they are doing great with what they have. A f1 car driver can survive 150mph crash. Most over 100mph commercial crashes are fatal it seems like. So f1 is doing things right in that regards

I think it's cool how they are now , they may allow some more downforce , but more than likely the teams will find more aero under the current rules by end of season
