i will be towing a 12’ tool trailer at times for work. I’ve searched but I’m new to this and there are so many options. I would like to upgrade to maybe ray 10s and a 32” tire. How much of a lift do I need and what is the most reliable way to achieve this? I will very rarely do any off-road driving but if I want to mess around a bit I want reliable components.

Well I know 265/75/16 and 265/70/17 is a size up from stock tires. And will fit stock suspension fine. For that size tire I’m personally going w ray 10s (just ordered them) 16x8. Think the ratio of wheel to tire will look best. At most I’m going to do a leveling kit but under 2in. Maybe just upfront to level out the truck. I don’t do any real off-roading. But even if I don’t those tire sizes will work.
I Plan on getting cooper AT3 265/75/16 which are just Under 32s w my 16x8 rays.

outside of that if I Lift it I’m not going nuts. Just gonna do a leveling kit bilstein 5100 prob just up front.
more knowledge minds will probably chime in on what to do if you want to run ‘true’ 32s. I’m assuming the 265/75 coopers dont count as they come in just under.

@Davis Plumbing yea not yet. The wheels are on the way still being shipped and the truck is in the shop until mid week. Got paint protection film on the entire front up to the risers and on the rocker panels.
Once I get it back I should have the wheels here. Then I’m gonna look into the leveling kit and tires. Getting everything I want to it done in one shot. Except for maybe new headlights. I had a first gen 04 with 230k mi on it for 16yrs. Finally getting myself a new truck after years of hard work. Figured do what I want too it. Overall though once done I think all Mods completely will cost me 6k. The protection film is the real thing costing me $.
on my first gen I put those same Exact tires on it. No lift 265/75/16 w wheels. I still have the truck.

I am coming to the end of the lift kit research process myself. Like you, my focus is on reliability (and low maintenance), because who buys a Taco for any other reason? These threads might be useful:

I ended up going with a Dobinsons lift kit from Exit Offroad. It hasn’t arrived yet, so I don’t have anything positive or negative to say about the products. Customer service was outstanding through the setup process, though.
