Question for y'all. I have the normal touchscreen without navigation... I dint think I wanted navigation until I saw that it has weather maps, well after I bought my car, sales dude lost like a grand from me buy failing to mention that. First question, are they accurate at all? At least as accurate as the weather.com phone app is? Second question, it looks like it just an additional chip. Is there anyway to upgrade without replacing it? And lastly, anyone want to trade plus cash?

For what it's worth, I have a non-nav head unit. But the HD Weather app on my entune audio plus system pulls its data from The Weather Channel.com. Their little blue logo appears on the screen along with the weather data. I'd say there's a good chance the weather maps on the nav system come from the same place. So, as far as data "quality" goes, it's as accurate as the website. I'm not convinced that it's not slightly delayed, but I haven't verified it. You could probably check by comparing the head unit display with weather channel.com on a phone browser or the weather channel app.

So you want the Nav unit just for the weather map? That sounds like I'm being a dick, but I'm not, just genuinely curios. I have the same H/U as you and kick myself sometimes for not getting the nav. Now I have a separate nav unit suction cupped to my windshield. There's another member on here that sells them (@FLTrucks). It would be cheaper to go through him than had you bought it when you got your truck. From what I understand, since you have the Entune Plus, it should be plug an play since we have the same connectors and associated antennas. You should look into that. I doubt anyone will want to trade down to what we have.

I bought my navigation unit from FLTrucks. Great guy. Good unit. Couldn't care less about the weather app though my phone is much, much better.

Also, I couldn't even give away my old Entune plus unit on eBay. Took a couple of months and finally someone lowballed but I took the offer just to get rid of it. Doubt anyone will trade.

I think the entune with nav pulls data from a cell phone, as opposed to our non-nav trucks simply pulling the closest HD signal. So, the nav system would be much more accurate/useful. Don't quote me on that, but I think that's how it works.
