OK, this is a thread, moved from the 2014 Navi for sale thread, to find a way to disable the GPS lockout.

I think if we can find a wiring schematic for the 2014 Navi radio, it should be fairly simple to defeat the lockout.

So does anyone have a wiring harness diagram for a 2014 Navi system? Specifically looking for the plug to the GPS which supplies speed pulse to the HU to tell it the truck is moving.

This how I input the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on my 06 that I tapped for the stock 14 HU w/NAV upgrade as the VSS was not included in the stock harness back then.

This should be all the info you need. Test before you tap for other years although I believe the ECU wires should at least be the same for 05-11 if not later as well.

Do I understand correctly that if you were to remove that wire, the NAV system would not lock you out when the vehicle is moving? And that's the ONLY thing that would change?

    Thanks for the pics.

No, you need that wire for proper NAV function. However if you put a switch on that wire the nav unit will think you have stopped and allow full interaction. While it's switched off, however, your location will not update. It will also take a few seconds to track properly again once switched on.

It's not an ideal solution but it's the only one that I am aware of that works.

    DUH! Got it.....pin 17 on 28.

What I am really looking for is what plug and wire color goes into the HU for the Navi VSS feed. That way I can cut the wire, run it to a rocker switch below the HU, toggle it off to complete the interaction, then back on to let the GPS lock up.

Do you have a pic of where you ran your wire to on the HU?

If you have that info it would be greatly appreciated.

Some features are not able to be accessed while in motion. Toyota Nanny. Wish there was a sensor to let the co-pilot do it when it senses a butt in the seat.
