Sub'd - Added review image of 2014 Entune Plus (57090) connectors and lower factor XM module.

Anyone know if the HD antenna port (#4/4a) requires a special antenna or does it simply feed to the regular fender mounted antenna? My truck does not have the shark fin, and only on wire exists the connector at #4 plug (to fender antenna). My HD is spotty, located in DC suburbs so should be banging.

Regular antenna. My 13 does not have a shark fin and I got HD stations. I did add a Amazon gps unit which sits on top of the radio. Mainly gives me the weather and nav (which sucks anyway)

If your truck has old style antenna plug on antenna then this will convert it to the radio square plug in style.

Okay so has anyone used this in conjunction with an AWSC-1 module and aftermarket radio?

I grounded pin 9 on the S8 harness and when I press DISP on my radio it illuminates the buttons but as soon as I left go the buttons stop illuminating. Also, none of my buttons work except the back, center button and the DISP button.

did you run the other pin 3 or 4 to the 24 connector? Not sure if you still use it but you needed to run 2 wires.

I just swapped to one of the android units but previously had the 2014/15 controls and radio and it ported over perfectly. Actually gained features. I had to buy an additional connector that that was missing in my 2013 that would connect into the radio. I would assume you would still use that but connected into your control AWSC. (assuming)

So I ran a new wire from Pin 3 on the S8 connector directly wired to the AWSC-1 gray/ blue striped wire and then at pin 9 on the S8 I grounded it cleanly into the steering column bolt.

The only thing which leaves me iffy is my AWSC-1 unit itself. I am wondering if I need to update the interface firmware because it seems to detect everything just fine and as soon as it's done it just shows a solid red light supposedly indicating it's done.. but I really don't get any functionality except out of the new wire I got which is all of 3 buttons that I am able to use as of right now. I haven't updated it since I bought it back in like 2014 and since this style controls rolled out at that time I have my doubts that it got all that functionality right so soon.

what are you expecting outside of the use of all 3 of the buttons? If the buttons are working thats pretty much what you get. I could not use left and right until I ran it. I did get much more functionality with my android unit since I can do 1 touch and long touch on the buttons. not sure if that unit can do extra based on how you press it.

Well prior to setting up the new steering wheel everything worked, volume up/down track up/down, mode, voice command, and bluetooth answer and hang up. That's what I'm getting at. The connections have not been touched or modified other than the one wire I ran at pin 3, plus the ground at pin 9 and that's why I'm trying to figure out what the heck. I really think the issue is in the programming of the module, but I'm not 100% sure.

Regardless, the temporary illumination of lighting at the press of DISP sounds abnormal in itself.

I'm going to remove the radio later and try to update and reprogram the module using my phone.

Hi gang, resurrecting this thread....I'm installing a new Kenwood DNX-697S HU, swapping out my old Entune Plus 57090 on my 2013 DCTX. For the new HU install I'm using the Maestro RR/T01 kit.

    My questions:

    1. Updated '13 to '14 steering wheel controls, but did yet not wire the two additional required the S8 connector, do these wires route to the existing 2013 16 pin stereo connector? If so, should I rewire/swap all the 16 pins into a new purchase 28 pin connector (2014 std) or is there an adapter?

    2. I never added the backup cam monitor into my old Entune Plus, but now want to do this with the Kenwood, should I wire direct from the fuse box T01 connectors, routed direct to the new Kenwood HU (V+, V-, Shield -, Reverse signal)? Due to 16 pin (2013) and 28 pin on 2014, I'm no so sure the Maestro RR will figure it out, even though the TO1 kit supplied a bunch of different adapters for the backup camera (both for 16 & 28).

Also plan to sell my Entune Plus 57090 Non-NAV HU w/ OEM XM, it works perfectly if anyone looking for a nice OEM stereo

at least for 1. I grabbed the extra s8 connector and repair wire. it was pretty simple. no need to mess with other wires.

    2. That may work. Since I had done the anytime mod I routed the extra wire into the HU so I could run both mirror and HU. in theory running direct should work. There may also be something in the new unit that adapts it. In my aftermarket, it was all plug and play. once I had it routed.
