2014 NCAA Football Thread

If Notre Dame plays anything like they did yesterday against the Tar Heels Winston will make minced meat out of the defense. Although I think North Carolina is better than their record shows.

Told y'all miss state was goin to be number one but it will be short lived cuz when fsu beats Notre dame they will go back to #1.

I kinda wish ND/FSU would tie. That would be great.

 

The last time ND beat a number 1 team was in 93 against FSU. The same year Golson was born.

 

But who was the national champion that year?

 

They both ended up with one loss. You would think ND would have gotten the ring since they beat FSU head to head. But rumors had it that the NCAA wanted Bowden to finally win a championship. So they got it.

Thanks! Campus is buzzing like nothing I've seen before. No offense, but I'm not scared of that Nov 15 matchup anymore. I honestly feel like this team can beat anyone.

 

Yes congrats to them. They capitalized when they should have and deserved the win completely. Really good football team and the favorite IMO to win the west and the SEC.

On a side note and not that it would have changed the outcome but the offensive pass interference call on Coates and the defensive pass interference call on Jones were complete BS. It should be noted that this is the same referee that switched feet to give bama a few more inches on 3rd and short last year and the same idiot that said LSU didn't intercept the ball against bama in 2009. Interesting....

SEC refs are bad in general. We were robbed a couple of calls during the A&M game last week.

I wouldn't be surprised if y'all won out and crept back up in the rankings. Y'all still have an outside shot at the playoffs.

Edit: watched the clip. You can see Coates push off right before he catches it. Pretty sure that's pass interference.

Edit2: watched to the end of the clip. Jones was all over Wilson. Also, pass interference.

 

I have no doubt we have a shot at the playoffs.
On the interference it was equal contact. Ref didn't throw the flag until Coates caught the ball. This isn't soccer, you don't play the advantage. You throw a flag when there is a penalty. Not 20 yards later down the field.

We will disagree on this forever but one thing I think we both can agree on is that State is on fire right now and deserves that #1 spot.
