Here are the complete rankings with the pre-bowl rankings in parenthesis. Does anything jump out to you as a severe injustice? Given that Alabama and Oklahoma (as well as Missouri and South Carolina) finished with the same record, it only makes sense to give the edge to the head-to-head winner. And just for fun, we'll add the preseason ranking of each team in brackets as well. 10 teams that finished the season in the AP Top 25 didn't start there.

    1. Florida State, 14-0 (1) [11]
    2. Auburn, 12-2 (2) [NR]
    3. Michigan State, 13-1 (4) [NR]
    4. South Carolina, 11-2 (8) [6]
    5. Missouri, 12-2 (9) [NR]
    6. Oklahoma, 11-2 (11) [16]
    7. Alabama, 11-2 (3) [1]
    8. Clemson, 11-2 (12) [8]
    9. Oregon, 11-2 (10) [3]
    10. Central Florida, 12-1 (15) [NR]
    11. Stanford, 11-3 (5) [4]
    12. Ohio State, 12-2 (7) [2]
    13. Baylor, 11-2 (6) [NR]
    14. LSU, 10-3 (14) [12]
    15. Louisville, 12-1 (18) [9]
    16. UCLA, 10-3 (17) [21]
    17. Oklahoma State, 10-3 (13) [13]
    18. Texas A&M, 9-4 (20) [7]
    19. USC, 10-4 (NR) [24]
    20. Notre Dame, 9-4 (25) [14]
    21. Arizona State, 10-4 (16) [NR]

Obviously the SEC didn't end up on top, but three of the top 5, four in the top 10, and seven in the poll all together... It's not like the conference fell off the face of the earth.

Next season is a long way off. Very interested to see how we handle the O-line issues, and who we get to step up as QB. Really looking forward to Derek Henry, too.

I still think its funny how much of an emphasis some people put on conference.

I'm all about MY team (and just about anybody who plays miami or the gators).

Sure, I understand wanting to see your conference play well, totally understandable. But to the extent of emphasis some people put on it, its almost like they care more about the conference than their team. Or the fact that their team sucks, but hey atleast they are SEC (right:rolleyes:)

I do find it somewhat ironic that the two teams who recently joined the SEC have been doing very well. One even played a damn good game in the SEC championship game. I guess they just miraculously became great teams because they joined the SEC huh

Yes, there is no denying that the SEC has been and will continue to be strong, and it has been impressive, but at the end of the day, it doesnt matter what conference you play for, or who you are playing against. What matters is who made the plays, who stayed strong mentally, and who came through for the win.

Auburn played a hell of a game and whopped our o-lines ass for most of the night. But we made it happen when we needed and Auburn left a lot of points on the field. Was a hell of a championship game and am glad my team came out on top.

oh, and thank god it didnt come down to a field goal for a win, that would have been too much for me to handle.

That was my first time to attend a game there as well, and it is quite an impressive venue. I hope to go to the season opener this year as well as a few in Stilly. My son was born in August so that put a damper on going to any games last season besides the Cotton Bowl.

I don't understand why people laugh at those who are proud of the conference they're team is in. Outside of our big rivals (auburn, Tennessee), I'd like for SEC teams to do well. I think any fan pulls for his/her own team first, but what's wrong with hoping for success for the conference, too? A rising tide lifts all ships... The better the conference, the better everybody in it.

did you not read my whole post? lol

I understand wanting your conference to succeed, but some people go so far it become slightly ridiculous

These were the points I made to a friend earlier...

If you don't want to cheer for the conference your team plays in, that's fine. Totally understandable. But I like to see my conference do well because of those points. I'm not against SEC teams sucking. I laughed at Florida all year. But, if you're a good team in a good conference, people will look at you differently. I've looked at Ohio State like they were a joke, even when they were 22-0 or whatever over 2 years. Why? Because their whole conference (minus Mich St) is just bad, plus they play cupcake OOC games.

I've always looked at the PAC as a weak conference. It was always USC and...who else? Now that Oregon has been strong the last few years and Stanford has stepped up, that conference looks tougher as a whole.
