Definitely not... On a more important and related note, Texas A&M has finally announced Kenny Hill as the starting quarterback for the season opener.

I was hoping that Kyle Allen would win the job and he may in the near future. Hill just seems like he's trying too hard and going for the touchdowns on every play. We'll see how he does.

New as in this is the first time you've been with us for the start of a season. The picture thing has been around for a few years.

On your quarterback related note, the new requirement to be the starting quarterback must be getting arrested a few weeks before the season.

 

Summer not season, but yes that does seem to be the trend.

 

Not at all surprised that McElroy isn't playing anymore. He was never much of an NFL prospect. I am surprised that Tebow isn't in the League... He'd be a really good tight end. Just stubbornly wants to play QB.

Used to be even worse. Check out the CFB threads the last three or so years. We'd start at 99 days. Seems that fewer people do it anymore, and only towards the end. It stops once the season starts, for the most part.

It wouldn't be so bad if they were all interesting pictures. Not trying to hate on you but for instance, I know McElroy was on a couple National Title teams, but no offense there's nothing neat about his pictures there IMHO. The other older two are pretty cool though.

12 is the number of days until college football starts. The number 12 on the jersey of a former player of your team represents how many days until football starts. Get it now?

 

I was already quite clear on that. My point is that why not do it with interesting pictures? There is nothing interesting about Greg McElroy. Broadway Joe, yes. And college football starts in 11 days. 10 if you don't count today.

 

Actually, starts in 9 days not counting today to be specific. 12 days for Alabama, Oregon and all but 4 of the other top 25 teams.

 

Ok ACU and Georgia State play in 9 days, but there are 5 teams in the top 25 that play in less than 12 days.

You'd think that a supposed Heisman trophy candidate would've locked down the starting job already. New offense or not.

 

Well that's what you'd think. Living in Alabama this is all I heard when they were recruiting him last year. Everyone thought he was gonna be the new Heisman. I'm not saying he couldn't be but he is taking a long time to get going. If he was as good as qb as he was supposed to be he should be able to run any style offense.

 

He has potential no doubt. Things aren't looking that great for them right now. In their last scrimmage the offense couldn't get into a rythm with either quarterback. They didn't release passing or rushing stats which usually means they weren't very good. It's only a scrimmage though. They've got a while to get everything straight. Their first competition is Florida(if they have a turn around) and that's a month away. They should still win the first three games on talent alone.

 

Hard to offend me, and that certainly didn't.

Sorry McElroy doesn't tickle your fancy. Just finding players w/ the number. And I used to get into quite a debate about the "days until football" thing, but I have long since given into the fact that MOST football starts on a certain Saturday, and the countdown is to that day.

BTW... he was only on one National Title team. AJ was on three, and started on two. You'll see his picture in a couple of days.

You don't know Saban very well... He doesn't declare a starting QB very early, whether there is a clear favorite or not (unless there's a returning guy, like AJ). I read that he might split time all the way until the Florida game to keep teams having to prepare for both. I'd be absolutely shocked if Coker isn't the starter early in the season, though.

I figured McElroy would have been a good backup quarterback to have. Smart guy, doesn't make bad decisions, accurate thrower. He'd be better than Case Keenum with the Texans. However, I really like McElroy and Tebow as analysts. They seem to be a good fit with who they're working with on the SEC network.
