Pretty much yes. My radio surround never sat flush up top either. (Yes I'm fishing for excuses)

I did the same... minus the 4WD switch. lol I'm pretty "OCD" when it comes to fitment so I pulled for the new surround bezel.

BTW, thank you for posting the links to the eBay seller a few pages back for wiring the back-up camera! I'm placing my order now. That should be the last component to my retrofit.

Quick question for those that have 05-11 Steering wheel controls. I use my Up/Down buttons to toggle through songs, stations, etc.... However, if I want to select something, is it possible to do it from the controls or have to use the touchscreen?? I know its a small thing, but would definitely be the nice.

So nobody could get their 2005-2011 surround to fit on top (perfectly flush) with the radio? I tried grinding it down some more but it seemed to help only a little.

Can you please post pictures when you install? I don't think anyone has with the 4*4 switch

Sect something like in what more? FM, CD, or Bluetooth?

Of course! I'm still waiting for my order confirmation for the 4wd switch and I ordered it Sunday.

Oh. Do you have to change out your old switch to a 2012-2015 version?

I'm thinking yes because of the lip on the newer bezels. When I get my new switch in the mail I'll take pics to compare

For example, browsing for a song through a Bluetooth connected iPhone... If I could select a song via steering wheel controls, that would be awesome. My 14 4Runner has an arrow key pad, and in the middle is the select button.

I was thinking maybe a double tap, or holding down a button would do it but hasn't worked

Oh like browsing different songs - let me find the manual. There's some interesting stuff in there.

Page 106 shows the newer model steering wheel has an 'Enter' button. Something we're missing with pre-2012 models

Thanks for looking that up Justin. It was worth a try.

So I have a non jbl 2008 with no Steering wheel controls. Will Bluetooth work with the scion/Toyota mic and the 20-28 pin adapter ? Or am I waisting my time. I have read previous post and didn't see it. I read where with steering wheel controls you where adding Bluetooth controls .

I'm honestly not sure if bluetooth works without steering wheel controls. I do know that the phone option wouldn't "turn on" or become available without the mic plugged in because that happened to me. If you're looking to connect bluetooth with your phone to use for music/podcasts I would imagine it will work because there's headunits with no nav and bluetooth capability.

Steve do you have any other photos you could provide of the top?

Also, did you get the multiple USB port to work (so a USB for a flash drive with songs and a separate USB connector for charging)?

I used the multiple USB port for my Nav retrofit, and it works seamlessly. One is used for my USB port in the lower dash, and the other is routed to my glovebox for my iPod. BOTH connectors charge, play music, and allows to be controlled through the touchscreen.

Thanks for the quick reply. Does that mean that you can have something plugged into both drives at the same time and still be able to play music in them? For example a flash drive in one of the USB ports and a Ipod in the second.
