Unless someone wants to pipe in, what I did was print off the first 10 pages of this thread and read and then highlight all that was required and all that was optional (some guys install navigation etc. which I don't have). Most of the good information is in the first 3 or 4 pages of this thread.

I have the same system in my truck as it looks like you want. I went from oem radio/cd player that came with my 2010 and upgraded to 2014 non JBL, non navigation Entune unit with full bluetooth controls. I don't have the backup camera video showing on the display, rather just have it in my rear view mirror like I originally installed it (and prefer).

It's been the best upgrade in my truck (I've done a few) and would recommend it.

Is there an aftermarket alternative for the BlueTooth mic?

I thought I read there was but I can seem to find that post anymore

so i’m going to bump this thread.
i have had my radio installed in my 2010 for about 2.5 years for some reason i’m having prob with my lightning cord for my iphone.
i was having a prob where i had my phone plugged in. and it’s say charging for a split sec. than say not charging and than charging back and forth. clearly thought the cable was bad. so i bought a new cord and plugged it in and it was fine for a few days. now it’s acting up. i pulled the radio and unplugged and plugged back in and it seemed fine. than acted up. i’m assuming that the axxess adapter i have could be bad. but i’m hoping it’s not the radio bc that would suck.

safe to say i should just buy a new axxess cord and hope that fixes my prob?

    hmmm

well mine like won’t get a solid connection i’ll hahe the lightning bolt as i’m charging on the phone and it goes off and spazzes out on off on off till i unplug. so don’t think i’d be able to even get it to stay connected wired to play the music that way. bluetooth works fine and all that.
i ordered a new adapter for the usb. but it’s just annoying so i’ll see if that fixes my issue.

    Any idea when the radio plugs changed? 2005 - ? , 2014- ?, 2016-2018? Thinking of using a 2016-'18 JBL radio on a 2013 JBL.

I drooled over your steering wheel thread, then thought about getting a 2012 steering wheel to go that route. Decisions decisions! Great job on that btw!

For those of you who decided to swap in a 2012+ Dash center piece into their trucks, what happens to the airbag switch? Does it become obsolete with the new center bezel?

Air bag indicator? I believe that's integrated with the clock and hazard piece. Pre 2012 one will fit but i think it's silver. I can't remember if I got one online from a salvage yard for like $50. Should be cheaper now.
