    The almighty shuttle rig!

Yeah it's a Ford, and yeah it's 2wd, but 10 Bikes, 10 dudes and a load of gear, coolers full of beer, try that in a short bed taco!

More pics to come, plus some badass Gopro video of wheeling and mountain biking that's getting edited up now. And once Chris gets back, I'm sure we'll see what a real talented photographer can do! I know he got some badass action shots of wheeling.

Thanks to everyone who rolled, made it a f-Ing badass trip! Can't wait to go again.

Ya, it's a haul to get out there, Mademan925 gets the long distance award, rocked it all the way from Pleasanton. But so F-ing worth it! There's some really awesome country out there to be explored. And the riding! Holy crap some of the gnarliest trails I've been on! Not for the faint of heart!

It was worth it. It was some pretty cool terrain. Definitely going back to do some more exploring in the truck.

After everyone left, Luke and I finished up shooting at the airfield and went back to our original campsite. We decided that it would be fun to do some exploring and venture out further than we had with the group.

We continued further on the M1 than we had ever been before. There was a really old jeep trail that didn't seem to have any markings on it, so we decided to see where it went. This was one of many that hadn't been used in at least 10 years. We drove over, through, and around trees as we plowed our way through.

Eventually we found ourselves back on 20N65 which goes to a small lake. From there, we saw a closed road that goes down to Barley Lake that we were curious about.

    20140317_2653 by www.chrisjones.net, on Flickr

Curiosity got the better of us and we decided to hike it. I don't really know why the trail was closed, but there were big piles of dirt blocking the road and also a guard rail at the top.

We ended up reaching Barley Lake, but didn't realize it until we had looked at the map when we got to the bottom of the valley.

There were no trails except for the odd deer or cow (surprisingly) trail.

After hiking the steep grades we found a river which had a much needed shower. A rigorous climb out and beers much deserved beers were enjoyed. After that adventure we set up camp, shot some clays, ate, and headed for home the following morning.

Having all of Monday to ourselves was cool because it gave us a chance to explore without conflicting interests. In hindsight it was a bit on the risky side to do what we did without another vehicle but it all worked out. Great trip, I'll tell y'all about it on Saturday at the meet.
