2014 Pre Runner. Need after market Outside temp guage

    Any info or advice out there about getting outside ambient temperature info in my 2014 Pre Runner. Any advice appreciated

    Just a few LEDs...
    I'm assuming you are trying to connect this up to a factory mirror with the compass and temperature readout.

    If you're looking for one that will work with the rear view mirror, you will probably need to get one off another Toyota from a junk yard or perhaps from the stealership.

    The sensor itself might be a thermocouple, thermistor or even an RTD, but there are so many types of these with different response characteristics, that even if you found a similar sensor, the data interpreted by whatever you are using to sense it may give you inaccurate results.

    However, if all you are looking for is a way to read the outside temperature, You should be able to find a cheap digital thermometer with a wired probe you can stick under the cab somewhere. (not in the engine bay obviously)

    They make replacement mirrors that offer home link, temp, and compass and they plug into the existing wiring. The only thing you need to run is I believe two wires to the supplied temp sensor. Those will range from $150 to $350 though if price is an issue.
