    Hope all are doing well.

So, after the intermittent wipers ($13 + $33), the back up camera ($60), the cruise control ($70), and the LED interior lights ($6), it is time for the next new project. I intend on doing a short manual here soon on how I did all of the above for under $190, as I seem to have spent the least amount of money compared to other postings I read for pretty much all of my "mods".

That said, I am ready for another cheap mod, having paid $42 for the fog light kit. Unfortunately, I realized there aren't clear enough instructions on the internet for someone as limited as me. What I got was: http://www.ebay.com/itm/263001994284?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction, as I have zero experience with wiring (all my mods so far have been plug and play, pretty much)

. So far all I have done was remove the dummy cap and confirm that my truck was not pre-wired (also no sign of wires behind the dummy cover on the front).

Any and all help would be much appreciated!

Where'd you get the wiper switch so cheap. Mine was $80 and i though that was an awesome deal.

eBay! Bought an used one from a 2009 Corolla; had no problem with fitting it at all. I intend on writing about it, as there seem to have some confusion with part numbers and what not.

How do the lights connect? Are lamp sockets on the harness? Does the switch have a plug on the harness? Put it together before you install it so you can see what's left. Post a pic if you can.

Not to derail this thread too much, but the 2.7L is not a V4. It's an inline, straight 4 cylinder engine.

Oops, did not mean to add that V, there. Maybe it's time for a new truck...

Sorry for the delay; some family emergencies had pulled me away from the project; but here you go!

    Damn, hope everything's ok.
Looking at the pic on the bottom right, is that the switch and it's plug?

To the left of that looks like a fuse holder and relay with a red and black wire. If you need to extend the red wire, cut the fuse holder off and use it at the other end of the extension.

That blue wire due to it's location tells me it needs to be connected to the low beam so they only turn on with the head lights

Test it out. Hook it up without the blue wire connected and see if they turn on. If they do, you can cap it and not connect it. If not, then put 12v on it either from the red wire (on anytime) or hook it up to the low beam ( on with headlights).

    Hope that makes sense.
And good luck with the family stuff.

Thanks for the well wishes, mate.

Good news, everyone. I wanted to test it out before running everything through the right spot, and I got them to turn on, at least. The blue cable i just attached to a piece of metal (I was assuming it was a ground wire) and tested by putting the red wire to the positive terminal of the battery and the black one to the negative terminal.

Step 2 of my test now will be seeing if i can get it to work with the add-a-fuse. I watched a video yesterday and believe I managed to attach the add-a-fuse to the red end of the cable.

One "custom" adjustment I made was to pull the 1 wire that connected the switch harness to the other harness, now instead of having to somehow shove the whole switch harness through the firewall, I now only have to get one skinny cable to get through the firewall and then re-attach everything on the other side (picture below, the blue wire is the one that connects both harnesses together, and will be the only one that will need to go through the firewall).

Now I just need to figure out how to actually get to the dummy covers and attached the lights in the right place, and I will be pretty much set! Thank you all for the help!
