Does anyone know what this harness is for? I searched the part number 86842-0e010 on google and it says it is for navigation, however the 2014 stock touchscreen headunit it came from did not have navigation capabilities that I know of.

Yes. It's the spider cable that goes from the radio to the siriusxm module.

If memory serves me correctly, 2013 and before, nav was the extra module and xm was built into the radio. Starting with 2014, it's the other way around.

So this harness would be necessary for navigation or xm or both?

It would be for xm on a 2014 radio

Ok. I sold my 2014 touchscreen radio to someone with a 2012 base radio but they have the shark fin antenna for xm. However, me being the dummy I am, I didn't send them this harness because I wasn't even sure if it was for the radio. If I sent this, would it allow the xm in his truck to work? He said he had xm before on his other radio so I'd assume this is what he needs. Thanks for all's help

If the xm unit he has is still active, yes it would. But remember, 2012, the xm was part of the radio and the nav was the extra module underneath. If he pulled his 2012 radio, most likely, he lost xm. Someone can hopfully step in and correct me if I am wrong. I just know that my 2013 had the xm in the radio and the nav as an module underneath. The 2015 radio I have now is the other way around. Nav in radio and xm underneath that utilizes the spider cable you have between the two.
