    Throwing this out there:

    1. FOX 2.5" IFP Ext. Travel Coilover (pair) $1294.95

    2. Icon 3-Leaf Progressive Mini-pack AAL $214.95

    3. FOX Performance Series 2.0 Rem. Res. Shocks 2-3" Lift (pair) $449.90

    4. Total Chaos Uni-Ball UCA’s $684.55

Mid travel kit from Downsouth. Again decisions, decisions. Thinking maybe the Fox Suspensions would be a little better, plus I get the Total Chaos UCA. I can get this package for the same cost as the Icon 3, and it appears this may be a better alternative?

Hi Slade The cost is the same as the Icon 3 package at $2644. The difference is the Total Chaos UCA and a 3 leaf pack.

On these 2014 it looks like UCA is a pain to remove. I was thinking I was going to have someone else install this setup. However, after looking at the removal of the UCA I am thinking its probably better if I install the suspension components. The only other thing is leaving the factory UCA on there. The factory looks pretty cheap.

Of the 3 brands currently under consideration the limited warranty is as follows:

    1. Fox 1 year
    2. Icon 1 year
    3. King 90 days

This is the limited portion that covers manufacturers defects. I think I will drop the King from the list as I am not sure 90 days is a sufficient time frame to determine a defect. I like Fox due to my experience racing motocross. Icon is a newer brand and should be a consideration.

I have read a few posts on here with people having problems with Icon. I don't know if its isolated, however, this is a concern. I don't want to spend $5000.00 and have too many headaches.

I guess my 2014 Tacoma will be the test vehicle. I then have to install components on my 2008 Tundra, and the 2003 Tacoma. Let the fun begin.

So if I cut the bolt I still have to get the new bolt in there. How do you do that without having to bend the fender?

Still have to bend the fender just easier to get it out took me 45 minutes with a pair of channel locks bending those bitches if you take your wheel off and look inside it's not the fender itself it's an inner wall thing can't see it once everything is re attached

Thanks to the advice provided here and continued research this is where I am at now. Leaning towards Maxtrac Spindles 4 inch and Fuel Hostage wheels 18x9 with 4.5 BS. The decisions that need to be made are:

    1. Do I go with Bilstien 5100 all around or Fox Suspension? The coilovers will be set at 0. I am looking at max lift of 4, and trying to level the stance or about 1/4 at rear.
    2. The tires seem to be another tough decision. Size would be 285/65/18. I guess I could go a little larger on the tire to fill the space, but I don't want to do lots of trimming. I like Nitto MT for the aggressive profile. Still have not ruled out the BFG AT KO2.
    3. Since I will do the spindle lift this will move tires out 3/4 inch on either side. Seems like I will now need to add a spacer for the rear tires. I am guessing this would be 1 1/4 inch?
    4. With a 4 inch lift in front I will need a whole new leaf pack to bring up the rear. What would be the best here?

I dropped UCA for now since it is not necessary at this point? What am I missing?

If you cut them off, or even if you don't, install them backwards. I wish I would have cut mine, would have save a ton of time and curse words. Makes it about 9 billion times easier to get to. No need to install them in the factory direction, those fuckers were lucky because they put them in before the body was on the truck. lol

I'm not well versed on Prerunners but on a 4x4 if you go above 2.5" of lift you will need an aftermarket UCA to get your alignment right. Or do the Spindle lifts negate the need for that?

Hi Rogue, from what I read the spindle lift negates the need for the UCA unless you load the springs up for a taller lift.

Makes sense, I haven't done any Prerunner research.

Go with the Foxes over Billies. You can run Maxtracs and with or without preload on stock UCA's. The aftermarket UCA's give a few degree's but you'll be fine if you dont want to go that route yet. The UCA's are a pain to replace however are well worth the headache installing.
You can do an ADD-A-LEAF in the rear to even you out. ICON offers a progressive 3 leaf AAL kit. For a full leaf replacement check out the Dakar's. You will need to do a cab mount chop and cut the fender to run the 285's because they will end up rubbing.
    Hope this helps.

I have the maxtrac spindle lift and after over a year have been really satisfied with it. Good luck on your build. You will never finish....
